How would it be any less likely that the election will be fraudulent? When we finally vote, won't it have the Republican/Democrat and whatever Ron Paul ran us on the same ballot? If so they could just as easily do what they have been doing, just like they did to Al Gore in Florida.

1.) With the prospect of a virtual one-party election between either the Clintons or Obama and McCain, Ron Paul might be able to harness a number of conservative votes. Once the general election begins, McCain will move even further to the left. With the general election some 9 months away, Ron Paul has plenty of time to make people realize that there will be little difference between the Democratic and Republican candidates in this election and step into a political void. Never before has the prospect of a third-party candidate, carved out of the Republican party but separate from the Bush-McCain Republicans, been so promising.
2.) He would get more media attention as a third-party candidate than the mainstream media ever gave him as a Republican candidate. 3.) Ron Paul?s support has been vastly grassroots-based. Even without the support of the Republican party (not that he ever really had any to begin with), this is unlikely to diminish and can only continue to grow as time goes on. 4.) Ron Paul has proven that he is able to raise generous sums of money to fund his campaigns. 5.) Worst case scenario, his third-party ticket throws the election to the Clintons or Obama. This allows the Republicans a better chance of running a successful conservative candidate in four years. But He Should Wait Till After The GOP convention |

He has made it clear he is a republican and wants to stay that way. Regardless of how pathetic that party has become he represents what it SHOULD be. I wish he would run third party, but he wants to secure his Congressional seat.

What possibility is there that Ron Paul could be a write in candidate on ballots ? Patrick, it's not even an issue until after the Convention, or RP drops out of the race for the GOP nomination. |
