None Ichiro. A very brief answer to another issue. HQ is swamped with little time to respond. This river is nearing flood stage.

We can't spend any more time on Will. I defend his right to speak, but agree with others that everyone here MUST exercize some PR sensitivity. Will could have relayed the facts without being insulting and so personal. This is why I encourage everyone to use their real names and pictures. It helps discipline the writer in most cases. Will just couldn't reel it in. We have to move on. Much work to do.

Iowa is in doubt.
Illinois petitions are way behind schedule with the deadline fast approaching.

I do appreciate seeing everyone here put their names to supporting the First Amendment though and understanding the difference between hate and ignorance.

For those who still don't know the difference ...

"Honestly, it's a little tougher than I thought it was going to be ... If we have to, we just mow the whole place down, see what happens. You're dealing with insane suicide bombers who are killing our people, and we need to be very aggressive in taking them out."
-- Senator Trent Lott speaking about the 2003 occupation of Iraq. He is advocating the mass genocide of civilians., 'GOP unity is strained by attacks', The Hill, 10/29/2003, http://www.informatio... --

Lott forgets to mention that the suicide bombers are defending their nation and region from foreign invaders with space-age weaponry.

"Trample the Weak - Hurdle the Dead."
-- Personal motto of US mercenary in Iraq (2003-4) and a friend of a vet x-friend of mine --

"I think that we'll end up succeeding in Iraq, and it's just going to be harder, a little more difficult [because of the influx of foreign fighters]. ...On the other hand, [the influx of terrorists] gives the [Central Command] folks a chance to kill or capture terrorists."
-- Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, in an interview with The Washington Times, October 24, 2003 --

"Without fear of God, no state can last long, for the dread of eternal damnation keeps men in line, causes them to honor their promises, and inspires them to risk their lives for the common good ... Without fear of punishment, men will not obey laws that force them to act contrary to their passions. Without fear of arms, the state cannot enforce the laws - to this end, Machiavelli wants leaders to make the state spectacular."
-- Michael Ledeen, American Enterprise Institute --

"Dying for one's country doesn't come naturally. Modern armies, raised from the populace, must be inspired, motivated, indoctrinated."
-- Michael Ledeen, American Enterprise Institute --

"... of course, we can always get lucky. Stunning events from outside can providentially awaken the enterprise from its growing torpor, and demonstrate the need for reversal, as the devastating Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 so effectively aroused the U.S. from its soothing dreams of permanent neutrality."
-- Michael Ledeen, American Enterprise Institute --

"Creative destruction is our middle name, both within our own society and abroad. We tear down the old order every day, from business to science, literature, art, architecture, and cinema to politics and the law. Our enemies have always hated this whirlwind of energy and creativity, which menaces their traditions (whatever they may be) and shames them for their inability to keep pace. Seeing America undo traditional societies, they fear us, for they do not wish to be undone. They cannot feel secure so long as we are there, for our very existence - our existence, not our politics - threatens their legitimacy. They must attack us in order to survive, just as we must destroy them to advance our historic mission."
-- Michael Ledeen, American Enterprise Institute, in his recent publication, 'The War Against the Terror Masters' --
That Great American, Sean Hannity, loves Michael Ledeen and has had him on as a guest more than once.

Please bring back Will. I find Will to be one of the most intelligent on the MeetUp. He backs up all that he writes about.

I agree, Raymond. I spent over an hour reading some of his postings after reading where he'd been banned. Man, he's one super informed, and incredibly articulate fellow, that's for sure. Knows his stuff, so to speak.

David's got a tough job, and he makes a good point about Will being a bit controversial. But hell, Dr Paul is controversial too. All Paul supporters are, truth be known. Otherwise, they wouldn't be Paul supporters.

I recommend David "stick it out", and try again to get Will re-instated. With all due respect to both.

I'm really not sure now. I did some investigating around the net after reading that hit piece.
It looks like from some postings I read on a few boards there is an effort under way to "educate us" and bring us into the "fold" so to speak. This bothers me tremendously.
I will not respond to attacks that will probably be wielded after I hit post here. I urge you to follow some leads that were given in that piece about a former member here in the "I hate to do this" thread. I found him on 2 other very controversial boards...that didn't bother me it's a free country. What did bother me was they are talking about how to "handle" us here and at ronpaul forums as well.I will not link to it. Look around you can find it yourselves and decide for yourselves.

Hi David,

Do you know who banned Will? Is meetup.com after receiving a request from some one or meetup.com after receiving a request from HQ or someone has the key/password to ban anyone here in this board and just did that?

If HQ was not involved in banning Will, we do not need and we must not involve them. I completely agree that they are busy with way more important things.

On the other hand, if HQ did the banning following someone's request, I am sorry, but they decided to spend time on this issue by doing that and I think they should spend little bit more time to straighten this out to our satisfaction independent of outcome. It does not make sense to say that they cannot spend time to consider unbanning, when these many people are petitioning, while they did have time to analyze the merit of information coming from someone asking to ban Will and went forward with the ban. They should at least post a message explaining with their own words and directly to us why they banned. They might be right in banning based on something we don't know and we might be convinced.

David, thank you for organizing this and I apologize for asking these many questions, but unfortunately I don't know what really happened and I have no idea who has the key to banning and can solve this for us so that we can move on and stop wasting our time with this.

If we just let this go without reaching a convincing conclusion, this will happen again with some one else being banned from this board. This pattern, which is letting something against our principles happen and not doing anything about it just because we have other important things to do, is exactly what allows politicians and lobbyist to get away with illegal and unconstitutional programs, because no one has time/money, except who are unfairly being benefited by the pork, to go after that unconstitutional bill/program/agency.

HAMR, yes, I am Japanese. One of the reason I moved to the US is because I was delighted by what is written in the US Constitution, Individual Freedom for the people and very limited power to the government. I stopped by a bookstore in one of business trip to the US, back when Internet was not available and Amazon did not exist, and saw a US Constitution booklet. My only knowledge about it was that it contained something about free speech and I wanted to check it. I browsed through it and bought it. It is my political and ideological guide since then. Unfortunately, later I have found out that it is not being practiced here.
