I was told by someone that it wasn't passed yet. Now I'm confused. Got a link that states it was passed or in effect?

Executive Orders do not take effect until the appear in the Federal Register, which is generally 30 days. So, unless Congress rescinds this one, it will go into effect as of August 16.

I'd urge you all to contact your representatives and beg them to smash this one.

Remember, Congress in on summer vacation. 30 days will go by before Congress is even in session again. Any ideas on this one will be great. ie: writing to every major newspaper, writing to the members of Congress anyway?????

Thanks, Becky

In some posts, people were saying we don't need HQ to direct our grassroots campaign, we can do it ourselves.

There are a lot of things we can do ourselves. That's true.

But, I would just like to point out some things we could use direction on from HQ.

  • I understand that in elections, some states are "more important" than other states. There could be critical states without enough meetup groups. Non-critical states with way more than needed. We need some campaign pros in HQ to direct us so Ron's actually being put into a position to win.

Well, this is true to an extent in that the delegates are determined by the number of registered republicans etc. and the states that have more delegates carry more weight. Also the primary date seems to equally important since you see so many states moving up their primary date. I believe there is more info at RonPaulHQ.com
  • Setting goals for us. We know we need to register people to vote. So, how many do we need? In the whole state? How about, just in my county? If some campaign pros could set correct goals for us, we would know if we have enough meetup members to do the work to get it done. If we couldn't meet the goal, we would know we need to get more members! But, we would know exactly what the target is for our meetup group, see?

I hope this feedback is clear as to what the grassroots effort can do and what kind of guidance we could use from HQ.

Hello all.

I know we have allot of issues on our plate right now. Ideas, web polls, organizing. Well what needs to be put in front of all that as top priority is the Donation Goal on the Ron Paul web page.

It is obvious that this number of 1787 donation's needed by Friday is an important one. Otherwise the campaign staff would not have made it headline the website.

If you have already donated then you must go to other blogs, other meetups, there is allot of international meet ups that we can be contacting for this. Local radio talk show hosts that are partial to Ron Paul etc...

Justine pinned this subject to the top of this message board for a good reason. So please, all the great ideas you may have or articles you see, video's you are working on for you tube need to be put aside until Sat morning. We MUST focus on meeting this goal.

Thank You!! smile

It's a shame that national headquarters is either unable or unwilling to tap into all of the offers of time from supporters on here who are very much so willing to work for the campaign as staff, willing to do it with little or no compensation. Maybe there are laws that limit volunteers, but on the surface it makes no sense to me. Justine and the rest of the Ron Paul big wigs are often expressing concern over campaign staff shortages, communicated through e-mails and even through this board itself. They often voice concern that the opponents have larger staff, and they make a point to emphasize that the shortage puts the Paul campaign at a disadvantage. Could it be possible that what the Paul campaign needs is some new blood brought in to the national headquarters to promote better and more effective management of the campaign?

The way I see it is that the grass roots is mostly responsible for Paul?s success thus far, and I cannot say that I am impressed with what the campaign staff has done and is doing to further the mission. It comes to mind that they are getting some calls out, scheduling Paul's appointments, etc. However, I must be honest and say I wonder what the campaign would be without the grass roots movement. On a positive note, I will say that I imagine the campus visits scheduled by the official campaign staff are translating into some votes among the students. The problem is: most college students do not vote in the primaries and few bother to vote at all, but maybe the Paul campaign will change things.

Still, I wonder that if this campaign was being managed better, utilizing the grass roots supporters further, if Paul would be better known, along with polling higher. I know he is gaining in the national polls, but how much of the gain is from the aggregate grass roots activism and how much of it is from the aggregate of the official campaign staff contribution? It appears that the funding and support need is out there for the taking, but will they take advantage of it? I strongly urge those in charge of this campaign to wake up and begin to realize the resources (other than cash) that the grass roots folks have to offer. They should be tapping into it, but they do not seem to be. What a shame!

To all Ron Paul Organizers I am contacting you on behalf of a project to help put him into the White House:
I am a member of ?The Wash D C Jan 20, 2009 Inaugural Ron Paul Meetup?. I believe this meetup will create the best central group for all of the Ron Paul Meetups. It is imperative that every single Ron Paul supporter becomes a member of this central group, to allow us to spread our ideas, ultimately allowing all of our voices to be heard. We all have the same goal, to put Dr. Ron Paul in the White House. I have laid out the general idea of the ?We the People? Project, but I do not have the resources alone to carry it on by myself. This is why I hope to inspire others to take action.
I have heard about the door-to-door campaign, which will commence in every state right after the ?tea party?. This is a great opportunity for the project to get started with ?the people;? however, I need your help! We can succeed with strength in numbers! It is evident that all of us come from different backgrounds, meaning that we all have different talents and recourses. Let us put them all together for the same goal we share.
"We the People" Project
...will no longer sit back quietly while our nation strays off path.

The Purpose:
-To ?impose? the constitution on our elected officials.
-To educate the masses.
-To put control of the country back to ?the people? not a select few.

The Project should include:
-A website by the name of Central Intelligence of ?We the People? (CIWP):
-Useful for spreading ?uncovered news? from our own cameras on the ground.
-Unbiased, truthful, non-sponsored, referenced, facts.
-Constantly updated and checked.
-The peoples? government watchdog, to keep tallies on elected officials.
-A central database of elected officials by State and in Central Government.
-History of voting records kept up to date.
-A means of easily contacting officials.
-Which lobbyist groups they ?sympathize? with.
-A database of lobbyist groups (or to at least include links).
-Petition with signatures from ?the people? in the real world (not the internet).
-Sent to their elected officials to obey the Constitution.
-To express if not followed, their jobs will be on the line!
-To show power by numbers, we will side with the constitution every time!
-Stating we have loyalty to the constitution over parties.
-Regardless if they support Dr. Paul or not, everyone should support this idea.

By all means this project needs work, but I still consider it a great idea. I have faith in the goodness of people, who can help make this project a reality. With determination, we can save this great nation. I am currently contacting all of the Ron Paul meetup organizers, in hope that they will spread this idea to their members.

Thank you for your time and consideration in with helping this project to meet its full potential.

I was a single mother and uninsured
I went through a radical mastectomy after breast cancer without insurance.
I lost my business during chemotherapy.
I moved home and am currently caring for my 83 year old mother who has Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, is bi-polar and totally bedridden.
I care for her 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
I have had one day off a year for the past four years.
I still have medical bills.from heart issues following chemo
When my mother dies, I will not have a home to live in
I don't understand how there are so many organizations and charities for so many causes but there are none for those that have gone through breast cancer to assist in getting their lives back on track ant to ease the burden of bills. They've had their bodies ravaged and their lives devastated. Just when you need all of the strength to recover from surgeries and chemo you have to fight for your life to survive the bill collectors. What if each person who has gone through breast cancer or known someone who has gone through this horrible disease sent $1.00, $5.00 or however much their heart felt moved to share to help. Why is it that the women that have been so fortunate to have their own television show or radio show not take one person's name that have been through this and ask their listener's if they are so moved to send help to these women. Thirty women a month, three hundred sixty five women a year could be helped and given hope. Even if it did not financially make a large impact the fact that someone gave would mean there are those out there that do care and there are still tenderhearted people in the world.
I wish this would catch on at sometime int the near future. If not to help me to help the many others I am sure have experienced the same fate.

Sincerely,

Denise Baker
