If you need the source code from the sites, just ask them. The code makes a simple site but to the point. Some people like it, and some don't. It depends if you want it to be like a newspaper or a t.v. I like newspapers: fast and to the point.

There should be a way to increase the number of threads that appear on a given page in this forum. I would go with the maximum allowable to cut down on the number of pages people must flip through here to find an old thread they may be interested in.

Thanks for the suggestion, Steve. I'll ask my contact at Meetup about this issue. If it can be done, I will ask her to do so.

I just heard back from our Meetup contact, Tammy. She says:

"Unfortunately, it's not possible to increase the number of threads that show on
a world wide message board, or any message board page. This is a uniform look
that belongs to all groups and topic pages."

I'm still waiting to hear back from another Meetup contact about sponsorship for the Ron Paul 2008 Topic. I emailed him a week or so ago, and I've been following up with him since then trying to get a reply.

Meetup is a very restrictive environment, but we can make it work. I suspect it is indeed "possible" but not something they want to do. Once we become their largest client in a couple months they may become more receptive to our requests and our needs.

Hey, how is the fundraising coming? I don't want you to give numbers, just a general description of how we are doing since the debates in comparison to previous months, etc.

Oh, and why did Dr. Paul give that guy on CNN a pass a couple nights ago when he said, "even though he is languishing in the polls." ?? Does the campaign believe this 1% number the MSM keeps throwing around, or...was it just a matter of not enough time to respond to everything?

Get the word out "SHARE" with your friends... And don't forget the $7 per Month "we all can afford that" remember each of us do not need to get thousands of people... just set a weekly goal and have any/all of your friends duplicate your efforts... It will be persistence and perseverance that will elect Ron Paul...

PS: Start with flyers at the Universities put one on each and every bulletin board on campus also look for support from the student GOP... Then have them go to other campus's... Also, don't forget High School Seniors - by the time elections roll around they will be old enough to vote! Good Luck? And may our efforts be blessed?

I agree with this post. I personally interpreted the campaign's choice of Meetup.com as its organizing tool as a brilliant synergistic reflection of the Ron Paul message of limited governance, self-reliance, decentralized decison making and local control. The campaign does not need as much money for street level organizing as other campaigns because due to this decentralization, a people power approach, there is no need for local or even state brick and mortar offices, phone line, staff, ect... Local groups can print out brochures, flyers, posters ect. themselves. In any game, you have to play to your strengths. The strength of this campaign is the massive, spontaneous grassroots online based tidal wave of support for Dr. Paul's message. On Tuesday I started the North Hollywood Meetup, on Wednesday I learned that Ron would be in LA for the Bill Maher show on Friday, and on Friday we had between 80-100 people rallying for Ron outside and inside the show turned into a Ron Paul rally too, having a massive impact on the show and demonstrating clear popular support for Ron on a major broadcast. We didn't wait for orders from HQ. We saw what needed to be done and acted. It is this kind of self-motivated energy which will win this campaign. Only the unleashing (with some channeling and directing) of the massive pent up energy of a true, real movement of the American people will win this thing. Only that. And it is happening, right now, as we speak. They are calling this the Ron Paul Revolution because it is in fact the early stages of a popular revolt that we are seeing. It is a peaceful revolt full of love and caring, but it is in fact a revolt. HQ needs to get clear about what is happening. To frame this process in the context of what has become standard politics in America will kill this thing in its cradle. We here in LA are acting now and others around the country will be doing the same and then we will really see what the creative, productive, intelligent energy of the real people of this country is capable of--and the nation is going to be astounded and stunned by the power and beauty of it. It is happening right now. Victory is a foregone conclusion if we can just believe in the people and help them make their new American Revolution. Get really clear. This is really happening.

excellent post! - that is exactly what we are trying to do and the approach we are taking.

Beyond what you mentioned, we are working to develop groups where organizers can compare notes and brainstorm, but as is spelled out: WE DO NOT WANT TO BE YOUR BOSS!

What we do want to do is get groups in the same state talking to each other and maybe coming together and cooperating. Secondly, get all organizers talking to each other and sharing ideas, and third, develop national resources that any Ron Paul group can access and use, like the artist pool.
