I, too, like the state website idea. IMO, these would be best hoster right here, as a subcatagory, to just click on.

Brian, I appreciate what you're saying. Mnay of us have been doing all that we can, without an organization. For my part, I post like crazy, spreading the word.

Unfortunately, a political campaign cannot be run without the stragety decided upon, consistancy in message, and an organization in place. We could have 500 volunteers, but without literature and phone banks, we can't do anything. Of course, those in the position to do so, can host and organize fundraisers (as well as donate).

Justine,

There should be a way to increase the number of threads that appear on a given page in this forum. I would go with the maximum allowable to cut down on the number of pages people must flip through here to find an old thread they may be interested in.

Thanks!

Why wouldn't you just link the state pages off the main site? RonPaul2008.com
Just a link and one web page. Then let sites like RonPaulFlorida.com do the rest. The state sites should only have the state's area web sites, meet up groups, and events. NO STATEMENTS OR MESSAGES! We are not Ron Paul.
The problem with Meet Up is that it isn't the most user friendly and you do have to join.

And another point, this isn't a top to middle to bottom flow. This should be Ron Paul straight to the masses flow. Once you make a chain of command, you will start to lose the message. And people WANT to hear his message.

I concur most wholeheartedly...smile

Issues that are central to Congressman Paul's philosophy are coming into the light. In my opinion, this is an excellent chance to discuss the concept's that I believe have been termed "Parallel programs". I for one have some reservations about going to a straight up gold exchange currency. The days of Elliot Fisk and Jay Gould come to mind (Gold panic 1869-They issued fake stocks and used money to buy up gold reserves, really nasty situation)

  • What checks could be placed upon transitioning to a gold/silver back currency to insure that groups, both domestic and foreign can not create a panic situation similar to the 1869's ?

  • Concerning the abolition/restructuring of the IRS, how long will it take to reasonably acquire the data as to what amount of revenue can be collected using a flat tax and/or National sales tax?

The time is coming when the plans required to put into place these Constitutionally backed actions will be needed for American Voters to consider, and I am compelled to submit my ideas, questions and contributions in regard to the impact that these ideas and programs may have upon our country and world.

Thank you very much for your time and efforts one and all.

    Most Sincerely,

Justine,

Please see Patricia's post on page 5 of: http://ronpaul.meetup...

IMHO this needs IMMEDIATE ACTION.

I couldn't agree more with this sentiment. That is what I was trying to get across with the suggestion that the candidate himself post here on an infrequent basis, just so all the troops feel CONNECTED WITH THE GENERAL. The generals who were loved the most (and were the most successful in battle) throughout history were those that were seen regularly among their troops.

Again, I will reiterate - I support the idea of individual state forums, with in-state Meetup info, AND, these forums should be part of THIS site. 100 different forums, set up by well intentioned supporters, will screw up communication. This place has to be Central Command. ONE LOCATION at which we can all congregate and communicate.

Some of us are covering forums/chatsites/blogs, etc. with Ron Paul threads. I cannot keep track of a zillion different sites.

ONE RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT OFFICIAL FORUM, please!!!

Susan I wouldn't disagree. Either way or better yet BOTH! I am not sold on Meet Up yet. It seems hard to move around and the message boards lack. I would link the Meet Up State site straight to RonPaul2008.com Try to make it as easy as possible. Not everyone is on high speed. By the way to run 50 websites until Jan. 2009 would cost around $1500. That is only $30 a state.

I really support the idea expressed by Susan. It would be really helpful if we had a clearer way to share ideas by state. I don't think we will succeed with a top-down hierarchy because people in their areas know what is best. We can benefit from sharing what does and does not work, however, and by using our combined intellectual and creative resources where helpful.

I also think it would make it much more easier to have a central point whereby we can all be reached by people actually in the campaign so we can work more effectively together.

I don't know what the answer is, but I would really like to see, either here or otherwise, a place where Meetup Organizers and Assistant Organizers can share information and work together to achieve greater ends, and just to support one another.

I'm still a little wet behind the ears here, but in poking around since starting my group I've found that there is a message board with each group, and it would apper that any one in a particular state could be designated that states approved message site. (and I volunteer mine:)

There's ALREADY a message board for each, local, Meetup group?! OMG, LOL! how do you find it? hahaha!
