The organization "Truth Attack" (Tom Cryer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDKcwytKkrY ) is promoting an event called "Operation Stop Thief", which is coming up very soon on April 15th. I highly encourage you to...

* read the OST description below.
* request a FREE materials packet from Truth Attack (link provided below).
* RSVP to this event in downtown Philadelphia, especially if you are not going to host your own OST at your local post office!

What is Operation Stop Thief?

On April 15, 2008, Truth Troopers, joined by patriots from every corner of the Freedom Movement, gathered at 734 post offices across the country for OST. They held up signs saying "What Income Tax?" and handed out flyers letting the last minute (paying) tax return filers know that there is a genuine issue over whether the IRS is telling America the truth about what the Internal Revenue Code requires of them.

Although we all have our favorite issue, and every one is as important as any other, Truth Attack's strategy is to approach the problem one issue at a time, beginning with the IRS's fraudulent application of the income tax to working Americans and their families. We are all serving the Constitution by thrashing and flailing at the limbs of the tree of tyranny. But every issue is advanced by also chopping at the roots. OST does just that. ALL patriots, no matter what their particular issues, are NEEDED in this once-a-year opportunity to awaken Americans to the IRS's illicit theft of American labor.

How can you join in the fun?

If you are a member of a local group of patriots, register your group below. If not, then form a group. A "group" does not have to be a formal organization. Two people can easily carry out an OST event, although the more people involved the more effective (and more fun) the event will be. A single family can be a group, and what better way to teach your children how Americans react to the loss of their freedom?

When you register, TA will email you a FREE materials packet consisting of your OST Checklist of preparations; Tips and detailed instructions for making your OST fun and effective (including how to deal with postal employees, police, the press and the public); Do's and Don't's; a sample press release (and instructions on how to distribute it to your local media through the TA web site); and a flyer you can copy and distribute. TA will also mail you FREE SIGNS to use in your OST.

FREE "Mat-packs" will be emailed out on or before March 15, 2009, giving you ample time to prepare for your OST. FREE SIGNS will be mailed by April 1, 2009. This is why we need both your email and your snail mail addresses.

We only get this opportunity once a year! Please join in the fun and do something that will make a difference in saving our country from our government and our government from itself!

To request your FREE materials packet, click on the following link:

For Philadelphia, we will be "truth-attacking" one of the busiest Post Offices of all - the one at 30th and Chestnut!

Who: Supporters of a Republican form of government
What: 10th Amendment Rally for the State of Independence
When: Monday, March 16th - Noon
Where: Main Capitol Rotunda, Harrisburg
Why: The R3volution continues

PA Rep. Sam Rohrer, 128th District, is sponsoring a resolution to reaffirm Pennsylvania's sovereignty, set forth that the federal government is an agency of the States rather than vice versa, and state that the power of the federal government cannot exceed the restrictions set forth in the Constitution. You can view a copy of the resolution at http://samrohrer.com/mail/util.cfm?mailaction=clickthru&gpiv=2100032902.37815.147&gen=1&mailing_linkid=2537.

Sam needs more sponsors to ensure the success of this resolution, so maximum attendance at this rally is needed. Get your car pools set up for a caravan to Harrisburg - see you there!

P.S. You can take Amtrak from Philly to Harrisburg for only $23 one-way. The Harrisburg station stop is only several blocks from the capitol.

Dear Freedom Lover!

Do you pay attention to government activity? Are you unhappy with the status quo? Would you like to make a difference protecting your community from the government? Would you like to see the Libertarian message on TV, newspaper and radio? Would you like to nail the incumbent in a public debate?

We are seeking Libertarian candidates and campaign volunteers for 2009 and 2010 races. You can help us win local races this year and prepare for high profile races next year. Whether your interests are local, statewide or national, we need dedicated Libertarians at all levels.

Our candidates are the heart and soul of the Libertarian Party. Libertarian campaigns are our chance to go on the offensive. You can make a difference without quitting your job or spending a fortune. It’s easier than most people think.

Are you qualified? If you have read the constitution and love freedom, then you are more qualified than virtually any old party candidate.

To explain the candidate process, the Montgomery County Libertarian Committee is hosting a free workshop on March 7th. Elected Libertarians and experienced candidates will be on hand to answer questions. All potential candidates and campaign volunteers are welcome. To register, please RSVP or email montgomery@lppa.org or call 610-636-8039.

I hope to see you there!

Edwin Viera will not be there, but this is his organization. You might remember him from such films as America: Freedom to Fascism / Boston Tea Party '08 (where are my simpsons fans?)
Over the past few months, I've befriended Tim Dyer, one of the national advisory board members for the Committees of Safety (Ed Viera's group that put together the boston tea party). I met with him yesterday on his way to CPAC, and while at dinner he put me on the phone with Walter Reddy. They asked if they could meet with the revolutionary leaders here in PA...yup, us.

I understand it's very short notice, but since Tim is driving back to his home state in Indiana, it would have to be this Monday 3/2/09 at 7. The COS claims to be able to put "teeth" behind the freedom movement and more specifically, this state sovereignty bill. Folks, this is the real deal, if you want to take part in some real solid change, this is probably one of the most important events you can attend.
Spread the word to whoever you think would benefit from this event.
Here's the link to their site and a brief bio of who they are. www.committeesofsafety.org

The Committees of Safety is a national organization. We are composed of citizens from all walks of life at the local community level - neighborhood, precinct, ward, town, city, county, and State - who exercise their constitutional rights of association, speech, and petition through non-partisan, non-violent, public education and legislation and legislative activism for the purpose of restoring a "constitutional system of security and defense" in their own States what the Constitution declares as “necessary to the security of a free State” throughout the United States . To this end, the Committees of Safety will :

1.*Organize activists and concerned citizens to attend our town, county and State Committee of Safety meetings;

2.*Build a coalition of others within our community including our State representatives and State senators to attend our meetings and become members of the Committees of Safety;

3.*Form sub-committees to work on the most pressing security issues for the State ( for ex.1. Security of our money, 2. Security and preparedness for natural or man made disasters and 3. Security of our vote count, etc.)

4.*Circulate petitions in our communities, that call for a "Constitutional system of security and defense for a free State" ( those signing should indicate if they will also volunteer in some capacity when the bill is enacted)

5.*Propose - and where possible actually draft - model legislation.

All of this to be accomplished one State at a time, restoring the system of community defense crucial to a “Republican Form of Government” in each State through the efforts of the people themselves - true “government of the People, by the People, and for the People”.

Committees of Safety are educational and advocacy groups, exercising individual and collective rights under the First Amendment. They are not “private militia”, “para-military groups”, “firearms-training groups”, “gun-rights organizations”, “survivalist groups”, or any other associations or entities of that nature. Any individual can be, and is welcome as, a member of a Committee of Safety even if he does not possess a firearm, and even if he does not want to (or for religious or other reasons of conscience cannot) possess one, but nonetheless recognizes the need for community preparedness according to constitutional principles and under State statutory authority. No individual member can be a member of the Committees of Safety who proposes that the Committees of Safety should identify themselves as some form of “militia” or that the Committees of Safety or their individual members should engage in any form of para-military activity.

Hey folks,

Back by popular demand is our follow up meeting for Philly Area C4L members. Our last meeting was a great intro to where we're headed, and this meeting is the meat and potatoes of what we're to do locally in our own backyards. We'll be covering specific action plans on how to lead your precinct, what to focus on, and upcoming events.

Let's remember that we all left with specific tasks to be completed by our next meeting:

-write a detailed business plan for your Precinct

-get through the PL training steps (if you're a Precinct Leader)

-start to come up with ways to grow the number of Precinct Leaders

-bring a friend (recruit, recruit, recruit)

If you're writing a business plan, please bring extra copies to pass out to each other. To save paper (and the hassle of making 30 copies of 5+ page plans) summarize your plan onto one sheet and make 30 copies of the summary to hand out. I honestly don't know how many people to expect, might be 30, might be 3, extra can't hurt, we'll recycle the extras.

Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time and end on time. If you're running late we still love you, just come that's all that matters. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, suggestions, concerns, etc. Otherwise, copy and paste this address to officially RSVP to keep a head count, thanks!
