SUMMARY:Ed Viera's Committees of Safety Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Philadelphia Campaign For Liberty Meetup\n\nEdwin Viera will no
t be there\, but this is his organization. You might remember him from such
films as America: Freedom to Fascism / Boston Tea Party '08 (where are my
simpsons fans?)\nOver the past few months\, I've befriended Tim Dyer\, one
of the national advisory board members for the Committees of Safety (Ed Vie
ra's group that put together the boston tea party). I met with him yesterda
y on his way to CPAC\, and while at dinner he put me on the phone with Walt
er Reddy. They asked if they could meet with the revolutionary leaders here
  in PA...yup\, us.\n\nI understand it's very short notice\, but since Tim i
s driving back to his home state in Indiana\, it would have to be this Mond
ay 3/2/09 at 7. The COS claims to be able to put "teeth" behind the freedom
movement and more specifically\, this state sovereignty bill. Folks\, this
is the real deal\, if you want to take part in some real solid change\, th
is is probably one of the most important events you can attend.\nSpread the
word to whoever you think would benefit from this event.\nHere's the link
to their site and a brief bio of who they are. www.committeesofsafety.org\n
\nThe Committees of Safety is a national organization. We are composed of c
itizens from all walks of life at the local community level - neighborhood\
 , precinct\, ward\, town\, city\, county\, and State - who exercise their c
onstitutional rights of association\, speech\, and petition through non-par
tisan\, non-violent\, public education and legislation and legislative acti
vism for the purpose of restoring a "constitutional system of security and
defense" in their own States what the Constitution declares as “necessary t
o the security of a free State” throughout the United States . To this end\
, the Committees of Safety will :\n\n1.*Organize activists and concerned ci
 tizens to attend our town\, county and State Committee of Safety meetings\;
\n\n2.*Build a coalition of others within our community including our State
representatives and State senators to attend our meetings and become membe
rs of the Committees of Safety\;\n\n3.*Form sub-committees to work on the m
ost pressing security issues for the State ( for ex.1. Security of our mone
y\, 2. Security and preparedness for natural or man made disasters and 3. S
ecurity of our vote count\, etc.)\n\n4.*Circulate petitions in our communit
ies\, that call for a "Constitutional system of security and defense for a
free State" ( those signing should indicate if they will also volunteer in
some capacity when the bill is enacted)\n\n5.*Propose - and where possible
actually draft - model legislation.\n\nAll of this to be accomplished one S
tate at a time\, restoring the system of community defense crucial to a “Re
publican Form of Government” in each State through the efforts of the peopl
e themselves - true “government of the People\, by the People\, and for the
People”.\n\nCommittees of Safety are educational and advocacy groups\, exe
rcising individual and collective rights under the First Amendment. They ar
 e not “private militia”\, “para-military groups”\, “firearms-training group
 s”\, “gun-rights organizations”\, “survivalist groups”\, or any other assoc
iations or entities of that nature. Any individual can be\, and is welcome
as\, a member of a Committee of Safety even if he does not possess a firear
m\, and even if he does not want to (or for religious or other reasons of c
onscience cannot) possess one\, but nonetheless recognizes the need for com
munity preparedness according to constitutional principles and under State
statutory authority. No individual member can be a member of the Committees
of Safety who proposes that the Committees of Safety should identify thems
elves as some form of “militia” or that the Committees of Safety or their i
ndividual members should engage in any form of para-military activity.\n\n\

olutely NO CHARGE for this event\, however\, Tim will have books and possib
ly DVD's for sale.\n\nI apologize for the short notice\, but if you can mak
e it\, this event will certainly be worthwhile. Hope to see you all there!\
