Edwin Viera will not be there, but this is his organization. You might remember him from such films as America: Freedom to Fascism / Boston Tea Party '08 (where are my simpsons fans?)
Over the past few months, I've befriended Tim Dyer, one of the national advisory board members for the Committees of Safety (Ed Viera's group that put together the boston tea party). I met with him yesterday on his way to CPAC, and while at dinner he put me on the phone with Walter Reddy. They asked if they could meet with the revolutionary leaders here in PA...yup, us.

I understand it's very short notice, but since Tim is driving back to his home state in Indiana, it would have to be this Monday 3/2/09 at 7. The COS claims to be able to put "teeth" behind the freedom movement and more specifically, this state sovereignty bill. Folks, this is the real deal, if you want to take part in some real solid change, this is probably one of the most important events you can attend.
Spread the word to whoever you think would benefit from this event.
Here's the link to their site and a brief bio of who they are. www.committeesofsafety.org

The Committees of Safety is a national organization. We are composed of citizens from all walks of life at the local community level - neighborhood, precinct, ward, town, city, county, and State - who exercise their constitutional rights of association, speech, and petition through non-partisan, non-violent, public education and legislation and legislative activism for the purpose of restoring a "constitutional system of security and defense" in their own States what the Constitution declares as “necessary to the security of a free State” throughout the United States . To this end, the Committees of Safety will :

1.*Organize activists and concerned citizens to attend our town, county and State Committee of Safety meetings;

2.*Build a coalition of others within our community including our State representatives and State senators to attend our meetings and become members of the Committees of Safety;

3.*Form sub-committees to work on the most pressing security issues for the State ( for ex.1. Security of our money, 2. Security and preparedness for natural or man made disasters and 3. Security of our vote count, etc.)

4.*Circulate petitions in our communities, that call for a "Constitutional system of security and defense for a free State" ( those signing should indicate if they will also volunteer in some capacity when the bill is enacted)

5.*Propose - and where possible actually draft - model legislation.

All of this to be accomplished one State at a time, restoring the system of community defense crucial to a “Republican Form of Government” in each State through the efforts of the people themselves - true “government of the People, by the People, and for the People”.

Committees of Safety are educational and advocacy groups, exercising individual and collective rights under the First Amendment. They are not “private militia”, “para-military groups”, “firearms-training groups”, “gun-rights organizations”, “survivalist groups”, or any other associations or entities of that nature. Any individual can be, and is welcome as, a member of a Committee of Safety even if he does not possess a firearm, and even if he does not want to (or for religious or other reasons of conscience cannot) possess one, but nonetheless recognizes the need for community preparedness according to constitutional principles and under State statutory authority. No individual member can be a member of the Committees of Safety who proposes that the Committees of Safety should identify themselves as some form of “militia” or that the Committees of Safety or their individual members should engage in any form of para-military activity.

There is absolutely NO CHARGE for this event, however, Tim will have books and possibly DVD's for sale.

I apologize for the short notice, but if you can make it, this event will certainly be worthwhile. Hope to see you all there!
