Announcing Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty: Pittsburgh- 1st Meetup

Calling all patriots!! It's been a long 17 months since the Ron Paul Campaign for President first began. We have fought hard in the the battle for our candidate, and have gained much ground. A new chapter in our revolution is beginning, and the time has come for all those that believe in the message of freedom to once again come together in support of our common cause.

On June 12th, Ron Paul made two major announcements. First he announced that, due to a long train of abuses at the hands of the establishment, he was exiting the presidential race. Second, and most importantly, he announced that he was starting a brand new organization for the future of the freedom movement: Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty.

In support of Ron Paul and his new organization, we have renamed the Original Ron Paul 2008 Pittsburgh and Western PA Meetup Group (#97) to Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty: Pittsburgh and Southwestern PA.

We are an independent grassroots meetup group for members of Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty. We are also affiliated with the brand new state organization: The Pennsylvania Campaign for Liberty (www.pacampaignforliberty.org) that was formed on June 14th at a meeting of grassroots leaders in Harrisburg.

We intend to continue the grand revolution that was started during Ron Paul's campaign for President, and continue to spread the message of freedom throughout Pittsburgh, our commonwealth, and the entire nation!! More information about the Campaign for Liberty, our mission, our strategy, and our statement of principals, can be found in the "About Us" section of the meetup group.

The Meeting Agenda

• We will discuss the new state organization and the meeting that took place in Harrisburg.
  
• We will discuss how we can spread the word about The Campaign for Liberty. The national goal is to have 100,000 members by September 2nd. Already we have more than half of that goal! By promoting it locally we can help to double or triple that number by September.
  
• We will be discussing and making final plans for the Revolution March in Washington, DC on July 12th. A member of our meetup group has chartered a bus to Washington for the day. The cost for the round trip is $50, and if we fill up the bus you will receive a partial, prorated refund on the day of the trip. If you would like to take this bus trip, please attend this meeting as the money for the trip will be collected then.
  
• We will be discussing ways to build up Ron Paul's precinct leader system which is continuing under the Campaign for Liberty. We will put together a plan for getting a precinct leader in every neighborhood!!
  
• Ron Paul has called for a Freedom Convention/Rally in St. Paul on September 2nd, during the same time as the RNC. He would like to have over 11,000 people attend. We will discuss transportation arrangements for anyone who wants to go.
  
• We will discuss ideas and things that every one of us can do to "SPREAD THE MESSAGE", as Ron Paul would say.
  
• We will be discussing new roles and organizational leadership for the group.
  
• We will discuss any other issues, ideas, or suggestions that will be brought up.

As you can see we have a lot to discuss and much more to do to continue promoting the freedom message!! Please join us, everyone is invited, bring snacks or pop for the group if you would like!!
