Ron Paul's latest book is brilliantly done. In it, he calls for us to study further and offers a list of 48 books (that's 2 years worth of reading at 2 books/month). Let's get together and start a book discussion group, beginning with his book The Revolution: A Manifesto. We'll be able to establish a pace of reading and share insight with each other.

I'll have questions ready in case we need them to generate discussion, but hopefully, we'll just be able to talk without the need for a leader. Please have chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7 read and have a few issues from the book that you would like to further discuss. I'll do the same, and will look forward to seeing some fellow supporters of these ideas at 6pm Thursday on the 6th floor of the Harold Washington Library, in the Social Sciences and History Library. The number there is (312) 747-4600. If you can't find us, just call me at (six three oh) 452-7309 or ask the librarian at the desk, who will be able to point you in the right direction.

For those who cannot make this event, but would like to, there will be a sister event in Evanston this Wednesday night, at a location convenient to the Metra and the El. For more information, just take a look at the calendar of the Greater Chicago Ron Paul Meetup Group at the left of this page.

PS This meeting will be starting at 6 pm, because I would really like to get home in time for Fred Smart and company's 1 year anniversary conference call.

Beth Marie, I hear "bazillion" is the new number that they have invented to measure the national debt. You must have a very busy evening ahead of you. If you get through that list, I'm looking forward to meeting you.

I will make it to future discussions, either in Chicago or Evanston, unfortunately that evening I have my co-op's annual meeting.

Why Harold Washington Library of all places? I really want to go, but I'm not sure if I can make it...

Who attended?

    •  Good group - although we had a discipline problem staying on focus (much apologies for my role in same). The time flew by- which is always a good thing when discussing such topics as freedom, responsibility, the ethics of non-intervention as opposed to intervention for humanitarian reasons, etc..etc... I'm glad I attended.
    •  Damn inspiring! The mutual respect was really condusive to meshing our diverse views. Ron Paul's book unites us with its sensible reasoning. Most of us were previously non-voters and became activists within the last 12 months when we heard Ron Paul's message. It appeals to the common sense of the common man. At the end of our meeting we listened in on the conference call where Ron Paul was speaking and he mentioned that his book is uniting people - truer words couldn't have been spoken. It's great to be a part of this REVOLUTION!
