Details

Ron Paul's latest book is brilliantly done. In it, he calls for us to study further and offers a list of 48 books (that's 2 years worth of reading at 2 books/month). Let's get together and start a book discussion group, beginning with his book The Revolution: A Manifesto. We'll be able to establish a pace of reading and share insight with each other.

I'll have questions ready in case we need them to generate discussion, but hopefully, we'll just be able to talk without the need for a leader. Please have the first 3 chapters read and have a few issues from the book that you would like to further discuss. I'll do the same, and will look forward to seeing some fellow supporters of these ideas at 7pm Thursday on the 6th floor of the Harold Washington Library, in the Social Sciences and History Library. The number there is (312) 747-4600. If you can't find us, just call me at (630) 452-7309 or ask the librarian at the desk, who will be able to point you in the right direction.

For those who cannot make this event, but would like to, there will be a sister event in Evanston this Friday night, at a location convenient to the Metra and the El. For more information, just take a look at the calendar of the Greater Chicago Ron Paul Meetup Group at the left of this page.

Therese, that's a neat idea, that online book discussion. If you decide to get it started up, let me know, I would try to join in. There's a lot in this book and I doubt it's possible to discuss it too much. - Allan

Great idea, but have to work, and also, live in South Elgin,so the gas prices keep me from going some places. Still have to buy the book. What about an online book discussion ? It might be accessible for more people. Isn't it too mad we have to "sell" the idea of liberty, but unfortunately, I don't think everyone knows have "enslaved" we really are.We are being forced to use the "ugly" lightbulbs, and get digital t.v.'s, freon was outlawed years ago, etc.

I love the idea of a Ron Paul Reading group. I'm getting married and so Thursdays are our planning days. But I'd love to make it soon.

"Good group, the people were cool and very knowledgable. I enjoyed talking about many different topics. Lets keep it up... I DO wish more people would have attended..."

  • Allan
"I agree with Micah that everyone was knowledgeable and full of interesting information. By the time we left, I had another half dozen books recommended to me. Also, a pair of documentaries in hand that I look forward to watching. Thank you to the other group members who came."
