This is what we in Montana are doing to take back our country.
Greetings fellow freedom lovers in Riverside.
We are from the Bozeman,
Montana meetup group. This is a preliminary email we are sending out as
part of this project we are working on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone
who is involved in this movement talks about this being a grassroots revolution.
And it truly has been so far, in terms of raising money, and the grassroots
campaign for the presidential race.
However, despite this, so many of
the people in this movement are focused solely on the top level aspects, like the
presidential campaign. This is not what a grassroots movement is. We cannot take
back our country just by electing a president. That is a top-down approach, and
it will never work. It must be done from the bottom up.
This is why
Ron Paul, as well as
Rand Paul, are always telling people to take over their local governments, as
well as the state governments. They know that the presidential race pales
compared to the importance of people all over the country stepping up to replace
the corrupt politicians in their city government, and state legislatures.
I believe this in the main
reason why Ron
Paul is hanging in the race; not so much for the nomination itself, but
to continue to inspire people to stop basing their hopes on him, to stop
focusing so much on the presidential race, but to take it upon themselves, and
their countrymen at their side, to take back government little by
little.
When I browse various Ron
Paul forums, and talk to other Ron
Paul revolutionaries in various parts of the country, I get the sense
that many people talk about this now and then, but that many of us dont know how
exactly to go about doing this. I also think many people in our movement don't
yet realize that this was & is the a key of the revolution -- not simply
trying to get Ron
Paul elected. I believe the purpose of starting this campaign was not
simply to try and win the nomination for Ron
Paul, but to inspire people to look not at some national figure to fix
things, but to look to themselves, and the person standing next to them. A man once said "ask not what your country
can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country."
Now, I say "ask not what Ron
Paul or any other candidate will do to reclaim our country, but ask how
each and every one of us can do it, regardless of who is running for
president."
If you can take back the city councils, and the city
precinct positions, you can take back the state legislatures. If you can do
this, you can take back each state, one by one. Only when We the People have
done this, can we start taking back the national government.
Here in
Montana,
we are doing just that. Not only are we taking over local precinct seats, but we
are moving on the state legislature. Out of 100 House seats in Montana,
we have 4-6 people in our group running for seats, just from our county alone.
We even have a few people running for seats in the State Senate. It is much
easier to win precinct seats and campaign for house seats than most people
realize.
You don't need any political background; a few of the people in
my group running for the State House are just college kids. It is entirely
possible to win these seats with door-to-door campaigning in your district. Most
people dont vote in these elections, and with a little effort, just about anyone
has a good chance of winning a seat. Most people who vote for the state
legislature positions do not really know who is who. They vote based on "oh,
I've heard of this guy here... I saw his name on a poster... I'll vote for
him"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I, and a few other people in my group are
spearheading a project to organize the groups in Montana
into a cohesive effort to take back our local and state government. Right now,
people are doing a little of this thing, and a bit of that thing. But there is
no cohesive movement in the state focused solely on this particular
thing.
There is no reason why a small group of 50-100 people must stay
confined to their local area. There is nothing to stop each and every small
group from doing something that can flame the revolution on a national
level.
Our plan is to first build a website that is designed specifically
for 3 things:
1.) Show how simple it actually is for any old average
person, and especially for any old Ron
Paul group, to start taking over local and state government
positions. Since many more people will act on something when someone else
is already leading the way, our aim is to design a simplistic, step-by-step
process for winning state & local seats.
2.) Show the importance of
focusing on this, and how it is not just 'one the many things you can do', but
one of the MAIN things we must be doing.
3.) Show what exactly we are doing to accomplish this, in each
city/county in Montana.
After forming the groups in our state into a cohesive movement, we want to show
the rest of the nation what we are doing -- that we are actually DOING IT as a
unified, non-piecemeal movement -- and not just talking about this.
This
will open the door for groups all over the nation to see how simple and doable
this actually is, and hopefully trigger groups all over to follow
suit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I am working on getting this message
here out to groups all around the nation ahead of time to help encourage many
more groups to start doing what we are doing (for those that already havent
started), and to let everyone know that We the People here in Montana
(especially we in the Bozeman
group) are determined to make our state one of hopefully many examples to
follow.
When this project starts gaining momentum, we will be working on
exposing every single group in the nation to it, which I believe & hope will
help fan the fire that is now beginning to burn within every real Patriot's
heart.
We must not look to other people, other groups, and other states
as an example of what to do. We must become an example to inspire others. That
is our goal with this project. It's time for every person in the Ron
Paul movement to realize that this was never really about the
presidential race.
As soon as we get this project moving, we
will be contacting groups around the country with more information about this.
