I know people are interested in beginning a liberty related group for the area. I am curious as to how serious people are. Meetup groups do have a cost associated (about 150 a year) that may provide more service then we need. Something like a google group might do the email and calendar that we would need.
Please respond to this thread if you are interested. Also, this site very well could disappear on Friday March 14th. Most of the area Ron Paul sites expire soon and will likely not be renewed. To those interested, my personal email is chris.detar at gmail.com (substitute @ for at) |

There's a charge for all this crap? I didn't know that.
Yeah, just a Google group. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, I just can't really get into being political. I do, however have ideas and ways of promoting liberty for those fellow nuts out there. I have pretty much come to the conclusion that politics do not work and that they will never change. Ron Paul is an excellent exeption and I will be promoting and voting for him when the chance comes up. Other than that, I'm planning on being active OUTSIDE of the system. No delegates, no messy politics, just good old doing what's right and maybe a little civil disobedience. |

The idea of a Google group would work fine, as it would keep us connected. Just let us know the details.. Speaking of Jermaine's "little civil disobedience" thought... I have seen a few rallies in our area lately. One took place on Route 30 outside the adult book store and the other was at the court house in Greensburg. I think we should try to organize something to that effect before the primary, and now we will have the signs, literature, etc to do so. We can really use Ron Paul as a protest vote for the many who dislike McCain. It would have to be a nice day and we would need atleast 20 of us to garner attention. By the way, WTAE and KDKA usually broadcast from outside the court house on weekdays at 6pm. Just a thought, so let me know what you guys think..

What were the rallies for or who were they for? I have always liked the "standing in front of the courthouse" idea. Especially when the media is there. And if we have a good freedom message, even better. There was a mention on the news (don't remember which one) about Dr. Paul's latest video and that he would be dropping out.

Every news outlet has falsely reported that Dr. Paul was dropping out. This is NOT true as of yet! However, if he does drop out we can still convince people to cast their vote for him in protest to McCain.
The first rally on Route 30 had about 10 people and it made the newspaper. It was a christian group protesting pornography. The one outside the courthouse was a feminist group trying to convey women's rights and free birth control (not sure how informed they were, because I was under the impression that birth control was already free through Planned Parenthood). They had quite a showing and I'm not sure if they were part of an organized group, but traffic was heavy and everybody took notice due to their signs. Again, Ron Paul will be coming to Pennsylvania before the primary! We need to get the word out that he is still in the race, especially since many are dissatisfied w/ John McCain. If we can organize a gathering outside the courthouse, it can be about more than just Ron Paul. We can hand out literature about him, wave signs, but also inform people that our media lies, and use Ron Paul's story as a perfect example! |

Such a crazy election. Then again I wouldn't know because I've never paid attention to politics until this presidential election. Are they all like this? Haha.
