What should we be doing now? I hate to say this but I am having a hard time doing precinct leader work when McCain has pretty much wrapped things up. Should I be looking at it another way?

I am in the same boat. I found out today that 20 tons of supplies have arrived in PA, so signs and slim jims are finally here. I too think it is a bit late. If I get any I will certainly pass along. I know many people that are casting protest votes just to make a point so getting Ron's name out there is not a bad idea.

Precinct work for me will be more about two things: education and campaigning. I hope to get some slim jims that are informational about the movement in general. I think a lot of people have not been enlightened about the Real ID, sound money, and the infringement on personal freedom. And I have decided to go forward with my pursuit of being a delegate. I am hoping to go to push forward a conservative agenda that might be lacking with McCain's left leaning on several issues. I have really been questioning the campaign's views on what a Paul delegate would be or do, and think I will be running (more) independently. I won't be doing the precinct work as laid out by the campaign, just doing some literature.

I think at this point I am looking at the campaign as the starting point for the next step. That step would be to educate others to important issues that are not being covered in the MSM.

I heard that if the race is like a baseball game, and the ninth inning just ended with someone winning, does it make sense coming out for the tenth inning when the other team has left the field? I think somewhere in that answer is each person's answer to your question. I don't think I am coming out for the tenth inning of this game because I see this game as the first in a series. I have found a good local politician that I am thinking of devoting some work to as well as my own campaign.

I will mention here rather than start a new thread as we have few readers these days. As I mentioned above, I am really questioning going to the convention and voting for Ron Paul if he is not able to dawn more than 5% of the vote. I feel that would be dishonest to the people in this district. Even if the rules are set up to allow for delegates to vote as they want, it bothers me that people would vote for a candidate and their vote would mean nothing. That doesn't sound very American to me.

I have come to this conclusion because of two things. Watching the democratic race and the role of the super delegates, when it looked like Clinton would try to steal the election by getting all the super delegates to swing her way, I was so bothered that the voters will would be circumvented. Secondly, the election in Russian showed people voting for their candidate and it simply didn't matter. Putin picked his candidate and that was it.

Maybe if Ron Paul had done better in the primaries or maybe if the campaign didn't seem to switch strategy to get delegates rather than the attention of the people I would feel comfortable voting against the popular vote. I can't imagine working hard to get votes as a delegate and then have a group of local politicians give my votes to someone else.

Anyways, I just wanted to be open with my intentions. I still support all of the same things I did when I decided to get involved with this group, I just want to do the right thing.
