Here's a response I got from the Sec State office about the Primary. There is still the potential for a GOP primary in Montana. A vote of the people for Ron Paul could send a huge message going into convention. We don't know what might make the difference.

Thank you for your interest in the presidential election.

Any candidates who file for the Republican presidential nomination will be on the June 3rd Primary. So far, no such candidates have filed, but several have indicated that they are gathering petitions in order to file. The law below specifies that the use of the results of the June primary are discretionary for the purposes of the parties selecting delegates to the presidential nominating convention.

13-10-407. Delegates to national presidential nominating conventions. The method of selection of delegates to national presidential nominating conventions is to be set by party rules. The use of the results of the presidential preference primary election by the political parties in their delegation selection systems is discretionary and is to be determined by party rules.
