Since we've got a representative race going on, I wrote to Jonathan Sibley about the TTC, asking his views on it. He or his staff replied, and I thought everyone would be interested in what he said:

"I oppose Rick Perry's TTC. If I am elected I will author and work hard to pass legislation permanently banning TXDOT from selling or leasing our roads and highways to foreign corporations. I also support increased protections for landowners from abusive eminent domain proceedings. I would appreciate your vote. Hope this helps you decide who to vote for."

That's pretty encouraging! I also checked out Rep. Doc Anderson on this subject. In a news article, he soeaks against it as well. He has family land which would be mown under by the TTC, so he has a vested interest in protecting our state from this project. However, I didn't see his words on what he would do to prevent the TTC.
