Who should come: Anyone who wants a chance to win $500 and is available to help the Williamson County GOP do our part in a state-wide effort to knock on 100,000 doors by Memorial day.

Why: This is a great way to get involved in the local GOP's efforts to simply identify Republican vs. Democrat voters so that future GOTV efforts can be more effective and efficient. Those who walk to at least 60 houses will be entered to win $500.

Meeting Description: If you have some spare time this Saturday, this is an excellent opportunity to prove to the Williamson County GOP establishment that we were serious when we offered to roll up our sleeves and work alongside them to further the conservative message. This activity does not involve promoting any particular candidate in any particular race - it is merely identifying people to whom more targeted GOTV efforts can be aimed later in the year. There were rumblings at the County Convention that we would disappear afterwards; let's prove them wrong and bring our spirit of cooperation with us.

As mentioned in Bill Fairbrother's email below, there will be a total of $2,500 given away - five drawings for $500 each! Wouldn't it be great if we could win that money and donate it to the Ron Paul campaign, the Revolution March, other RP candidates, or use it to get to DC for the march, etc.?! Sweet!

Anyway, here are the details from Mr. Fairbrother:

Texas Victory Walk on May 17th - On May 17th, Texas Victory 2008 (a project of the Republican Party of Texas) will be kicking off the statewide ?Texas Strike Force Walk to Win? program. This will be a collaborative voter identification effort between Victory ?08, Republican candidates and county party organizations around the state. Our statewide goal is to knock on 100,000 doors before Memorial Day! We need your help to make ?Walk to Win? a huge success. Voter ID is a critical function of this year?s Victory effort. By identifying Republican and Democrat voters now, we will be able to conduct a more efficient and effective GOTV program in the fall. That means time and money saved by our State Party and our Republican candidates.

We will meet at Williamson County GOP Headquarters (716 S Rock St) in Georgetown for training, and fan out from there. Registration begins at 9:30am, and training will start at 10:00am. As a special incentive, those walking to at least 60 houses on Saturday, will be entered into a drawing for one of five $500 gift certificates.
