LLOYD BAILEY and his campaign NEEDS your help!
He needs over 1,600 petitions in order to get on the ballot, and he needs them before May 19th! But you can help to get this liberty-loving, true patriot on the ballot! If we can get fifty volunteers to collect just 25 petitions from friends and family who are registered voters in Alachua County, we'll have the remaining petitions. So please come to tonight's John Birch Society Meeting to and get involved. WHEN: Monday, April 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM WHERE: Lloyd Bailey's Scuba & Watersports, 3405-B NW 97th Blvd, Gainesville 32606 WHO SHOULD COME: Everybody! The following is part of a campaign message sent out today: --------------------------- To Patriots, Friends and Campaign supporters, The deadline to qualify by petition method is May 19th. I need you to turn in all signed petitions at my dive store as soon as possible, so I can determine where we stand. I am greatly concerned that we will not be able to get the petitions in time and the other method to qualify is by writing a check for $4,197.84 to the state. Many of our efforts to collect petitions have been thwarted by either the government or by citizens that do not understand the process for candidates to be placed on the ballot. There seems to be a general dislike for candidates, which I think represents a general contempt for our elected officials. We attempted to collect petitions at the Spring Arts Festival and were advised that the city street had been rented out and we could not enter to collect signatures. I did not know that city streets could be rented out but the police were there and they have the guns. Restrictions of this nature have made me realize that the best way to get this accomplished will be by a large number of patriots each collecting a smaller number of petitions rather than a few individuals collecting many. In other words I need at least 50 people to commit to at least 25 petitions. This can be easily accomplished at work and in the neighborhoods. Please forward this to every one on your list. I have personally spent over $15,000 on Alachua County campaigns and will not be able to justify paying the $4,000 dollars of my own money in our present ecomomy. I would also consider the exorbitant qualifying fee to be a waste of conservative donations to my campaign. It must be realized, that it is not a personal goal of mine to be a county commissioner, but I am willing to do the job out of a sense of DUTY! ... If we collect the ballots before the deadline, I will qualify and I believe I have a very good chance of winning in November. I ran my first campaign in 2000 with oppressive taxation as a key issue and now taxes are a local, state and national issue. In our current economy people are less tolerant of taxes and I say it is about time. I will have a Republican primary in August, but my opponent in my opinion is not a conservative. I need your help and the time is short. There are over 200 recipients of this e-mail. I estimate that we have 300-350 petitions at this time. We need to turn in over 1,600 because some will be rejected as incomplete or not readable, etc. If 50 of you will commit to 25 petitions we will reach our goal. I have attached a pdf of the petition and ask you to print copies and get them filled out and delivered to my dive store this week. The petitions must be wet signatures, not e-mailed. You can mail petitions to: Lloyd Bailey for Alachua County Commission, District 3 3405-B NW 97th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606 ATTACHED FILES: - Printable Petition for Lloyd - Map to Lloyd Bailey's Store - Photo of his newborn son reading the Constitution |
