Bothell Ron Paul 2008 Meetup
To Do List For Liberty - Try To Do at least the first 4!
Welcome to the Bothell Campaign for Liberty MeetUp!!!
A little about us?
Thank you for joining us following the most exciting political campaign of our lifetime. The mission of this group is to organize, mobilize, and help return Washington State and the USA to balanced budgets, individual responsibility and liberty, and honesty. We also plan to have a lot of fun along the way.
The Bothell Ron Paul Meetup group was created in August 2007 in order to help Ron Paul restore our country to the Constitutional Republic that the founders envisioned; and to restore our individual freedoms that have been eroded by politicians of both parties. Although Dr. Paul is a Republican, our group welcomes patriots of every political stripe who long for liberty, peace, and responsible government. In September 2008 we changed our name to the Bothell Campaign for Liberty as a way for CFL members to meet together and support each other in learning about how to accomplish our mission.
I have joined the Meetup group, now what? Put the next Meetup on your calendar!
So many people are excited about the Campaign for Liberty and don't want to sit on their hands waiting for the next Meetup. Luckily, there is much that you can do right now to help the campaign. Below is a list of a few of the things that you can do to get involved today.
1.
Check your voter registration. Find your card, call your Elections Office for a new one, or go online - you need to be registered to vote in your neighborhood precinct .
2. Next,
register with the Campaign for Liberty, http//www.campaignforliberty.com . This will allow the campaign to communicate with you directly and allow them to demonstrate the level of support for Dr. Paul's ideas. There are no dues or formal obligations associated with joining the campaign. Include your precinct (from your voter registration card).
3. Sign up to be a Local Coordinator and help organize your neighborhood. In this case there is a $35 membership fee and some formal obligations, such as a commitment of five hours of your time per month and various projects. Visit with or call your neighbors, then mail them information from the Local Coordinator site.
4. If you'd like, join the Seattle Meetup or one of the other groups close to you. The Seattle group serves as the state hub for our organizing efforts. Seattle is the media center of the state. Our ability to bring people together for Seattle area events will be reflected in the statewide media coverage that the campaign receives. Having a hub group also allows the various organizers to better communicate and harmonize our efforts. To avoid too many emails, go to My Account on meetup and sign up for daily updates.
5. Check out YouTube, MySpace, Digg etc. Ron Paul sites, and set up accounts. Join the groups, participate, watch the videos, and use the discussion groups. See the weekly program FreedomWatch with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Ron Paul, and Peter Schiff:
6. Educate yourself. Here is a list of great sites to learn about Dr. Paul, the philosophy of liberty, and the daily happenings in the campaign.
a. Ron Paul on Wikipedia
b. DailyPaul.com
c. The Ron Paul Library
d. America: Freedom to Fascism
e. The Philosophy of Liberty
f. Ron Paul Radio
g. thecaseforronpaul.com
h. rense.com
i. LewRockwell.com
j.endthefed.com
7. Talk to everyone you meet - email your list. You love your family, friends, and co-workers - right? You want them to live in a free nation with lots of opportunities - right? Then let them know that there is hope, and give them the chance to get involved themselves. Include links to the Campaign for Liberty site, Dr. Paul's Youtube channel, thecaseforronpaul.com. There are a number of great issues you can also use to target those things that are most important to your list, ( Alternative Health Care, 2nd Amendment, Immigration, Inflation, War, Foreign Policy,Economic Crisis.), check out the education section of the web site for some ideas, the training section, and the talking points under materials.
8. Sign up for Google and Yahoo News Alerts for 'Ron Paul' or HR 1207 or Campaign for Liberty. When someone smears him, mischaracterizes him, or dismisses him; leave them a polite, but firm reply. Also consider sending a nice, but firm email so the media will know that we are watching and we won't let them get away with misinforming or under-informing the American people. Update: HR 1207 has been added to the Federal Reserve Bill - it remains to be seen if that is good or not. At least if it passes, there will be a complete audit of the Fed.
9. Check our Message Board for past conversations, Files for info on various topics, Polls to indicate your preferences, Photos to see what we've been doing.
10. Join one of the political parties and get involved . With any size donation they will send you a membership card. You don't have to agree with everything. Read the platform and suggest changes. Sign up for email alerts so you will know when legislation is pending.
