Maryland residents were shocked at the revelations earlier this year that the Maryland State Police were covertly gathering information on progressive and nonviolent Maryland activists working to oppose the death penalty and to oppose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. For over a year, the police spied on these activists at their public meetings in Baltimore and Takoma Park including the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church.

Come out and attend a very important forum with:

* Local Maryland activists spied upon by Maryland police:
Maria Allwine and Max Obuszewski with Baltimore Pledge of Resistance,
Mike Stark and Dave Zirin with the Campaign to End the Death Penalty

* Jamie Raskin, Maryland State Senator and American University constitutional law professor

* David Rocah, lead attorney with the Maryland ACLU campaign to expose spying on Maryland activists

* Ann Wilcox, of the National Lawyers Guild, who will report on year-long spying against activists who attended the Republican National Convention protests in Minnesota

Mark your calendars!
Next week, Thursday, October 9th, there is a big event in College Park, Maryland. Ron Paul will be headlining a Rally and Fundraiser for Maryland Republican Congressional candidates. Each of the four liberty candidates, Collins Bailey, Richard Matthews, Peter James, and Mike Hargadon, will speak at this event then Ron will wrap it up with a speech of his own. This event has been in the works for quite a while. Patrick Citroni, a good friend who we recently lost in a motorcycle accident, was a major player in getting this event to happen. Ron Paul has endorsed all four Maryland liberty candidates because they clearly believe in limited Constitutional Government, sound money, a humble foreign policy of no nation building, and an adherence to the principles of Liberty that make this nation great. This event is for Ron to reiterate his endorsements of our candidates and to show Maryland that they're the clear choice for Congressman.

Where: Comcast Center Pavilion Gym at the University of Maryland in College Park
When: 7:30PM Thursday October 9th.
Cost: at the door, General Admission is $25, Students (with ID) $5.
Additionally, VIP sponsors are welcome to attend a private reception with Dr. Paul and Maryland Congressional Candidates starting at 6:30PM, for the cost of $150.
