Tuesday Night Orienteering for Ron Paul 2008!

A competitive sport, originating in Sweden, that tests the skills of map reading and cross country running, in which competitors race through an unknown area to find various checkpoints by using only a compass and topographical map, the winner being the finisher with the lowest elapsed time.

Join us at La Madeleine on Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland for an evening of Ron Paul orienteering. Follow your map to the restaurant and race inside to find your way to the Garden Room, or if schedule changes require, the Bedroom, Wine Cellar or Patio. All participants will get a new compass to sort out the way to go through this election year and beyond. Don't be left floundering on the sidelines as this Presidential election goes down to the finish!

The terrain at La Madeleine may be rocky and steep as you go through the buffet line trying to decide which moderately price goodie to stack onto your tray, but with a clear head and your wits about you, it will be easy to find your way back to where we're meeting in the Garden Room. The race starts at 7:00pm and will continue until everyone is through the course and all topics are covered.

Race Maps will be handed out, the rules of the game explained and check points revealed. You'll be on your way around the interior of the restaurant, outside on the patio and up and down the parking lot to complete the course. It might seem like an episode of CBS' Survivor and, indeed, that might be closer to what we're all about than you realize. At the end, we'll get together and rally while discussing who gets "voted off the island" in November.

It should be a GREAT time and just one of many athletic events to follow. Something for EVERYONE with this Meetup group!
