Update: The Democratic demonstration will take place at 11:30 AM (not 1 PM), and I have just heard from a reliable source that the SEIU will in fact take part!

Now is the time for us to stand up for Liberty in Rutherford County. This is the first step. Come to the Rally & Panel and arm yourself with the knowledge you will need for the Town Hall on Monday.

In concert with events planned across the country, Middle Tennessee Tea Party and Sumner United for Responsible Government are holding a politician-free, citizen-led panel discussion. They will discuss the proposed healthcare legislation and its potential impact on our lives, with a focus on market-based alternatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the issue that of late has dominated so much of the news. It is also an excellent opportunity to prepare for Bart Gordon’s town hall meeting two days later. (I sent out the Meetup invitation on that one already. You did RSVP yes, didn't you)?

Bart Gordon has been invited to sit in the audience, but so far, he has declined. He will be saved a front-row seat.

This event will take place in or on the steps of the Rutherford County Courthouse, depending on the number of people who turn up. Click here for directions.

The Rutherford County Democrats have organized a pro-healthcare-reform demonstration in front of Bart Gordon's office for 1 PM on the day of the Rally & Panel. (Although I have not heard anything specific to this effect, it would be logical to anticipate the SEIU [ACORN’s parent organization which received Stimulus money for which Bart Gordon voted and which now has an office in his district], to take part in the Democratic demonstration).

Come if you can; signs will be more than welcome!
