TODAY, January 2nd is the LAST DAY to file to get on the March 4th ballot to be a precinct chair. The precinct chair serves a 2 year term and runs the precinct convention meeting at your polling place after the election. It is run from a written script and there is plenty of information available on how to do it properly. It would be very beneficial to have a Ron Paul supporter as precinct chair in every precinct. This would ensure that Ron Paul supporters and delegates control the convention, and precinct chairs also are much more likely to be delegates at higher level conventions. I have just spoken to my precinct chair and found out he is a long time libertarian and current Ron Paul supporter, so I won't be filing to run against him.
Please consult the list of county chairs in the links for each county at the end of this email. Find your voting precinct. It's on your voter registration card, or you can use this map to figure it out:

http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/reqvr.shtml. If the chair position for your precinct is vacant, please file to get on the ballot. You will probably be unopposed and be elected. Even if your precinct already has a chair, you should consider running. Even though you will probably not win due to name recognition, these incumbants are not all guaranteed to run again this time. Here is the form:
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/a2-1pm.pdfPrint it out, fill it out, sign it in front of a notary, then deliver it personally to the county Republican party chair by 6 pm January 2nd. Do not identify yourself as a Ron Paul supporter. Here is a list of all county chairs:
