As noted yesterday, the Medina for Texas Campaign is looking for a strong financial end to this reporting quarter.

Let's see if we still remember how to do a money bomb, even with little notice. It'll be good practice for Adam Kokesh's next week.

Sometime June 30, go to http://medinafortexas.com/ , click on "donate", and give $25.

RSVP to this meetup to show your participation.

Also, I now have a limited supply of campaign bumper stickers, and will give one to anyone who donates any amount: first come, first, serve. After you donate, email me proof.

Cost: $25.00

***** Please see http://convention.ocati.org/ for further information and to participate in ongoing discussion in preparation for these meetings. *****

A series of district meetings is being called for Texas in January 2009, to facilitate the Grassroots Freedom Movement in Texas discussing what will be needed to support the cause of Liberty in Texas politics and life. These meetings will be organized by SD (State Senatorial District) and held as Mass Meetings under Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, 10th edition. Each SD will elect delegates to attend a statewide meeting to be held at the end of February. At the statewide meeting, each SD will have a proportional voting strength equivalent to the votes cast for Dr. Paul for President in the March 2008 primary in that SD divided by the total statewide vote for Dr. Paul for President in the March 2008 Texas Republican Primary.

Forums will be available shortly to enable all interested Texans to discuss possible goals and outcomes of these meetings, but in the end the meetings themselves will determine the outcome.

The DFW meeting will host SDs 2, 8, 9, 10, 12, 16, 23, and 30.

The location is TBD.

Please RSVP via email to convention@ocati.org to allow RSVPs to be centralized and so we can keep you updated directly without relying on Meetup. RSVPs are not required but will make it much easier for the DFW Host Committee to secure an appropriate venue.

Mission Statement | Rally For The Republic

“The Campaign for Liberty events planned for August 31 - September 2 will be a celebration of our movement and our supporters, a launch party for the Campaign for Liberty, and a clear call to the Republican Party to return to its roots of limited government, personal responsibility, and protection of our natural rights. The event will run in conjunction with the first two days of the Republican National Convention and will feature top conservative speakers, musicians, and organizations. It will also have an organizational and training function for the Campaign for Liberty and the Freedom Movement.”

The breakdown:

“The Campaign for Liberty events planned for August 31 - September 2 will be a celebration of our movement and our supporters…”

We have come a long way since Dr. Paul announced he was forming an exploratory committee to run for the presidency. These events will be a celebration of the liberty message – a salute to the principles that made this nation great and that can lead us boldly into the future. It will be a time to meet, encourage one another, enjoy the performers, and commemorate all that has been achieved. At 1:00pm on Monday, Sept. 1st, Dr. Paul will be holding a book signing for The Revolution: A Manifesto. The Ron Paul Nation Celebration will take place that night. This will be a special concert featuring some of Dr. Paul’s most supportive musicians that we are hosting as a special thank you to all of you who have worked so hard. On Tuesday, speakers, musicians, and organizations will come together at the Target Center to deliver the biggest event the freedom movement has ever seen. We are calling it the Rally for the Republic.

“… a launch party for the Campaign for Liberty…”

During Tuesday night’s event, we will officially kick off the Campaign for Liberty with a multimedia presentation introducing you to the organization and presenting our long term goals. Next week, we will be releasing a new website specifically for the Minnesota events. It will provide logistical support, information on performers, and will give you a working schedule and also promotional items to download and hand out.

“… and a clear call to the Republican Party to return to its roots of limited government, personal responsibility, and protection of our natural rights.”

Our speakers will clearly articulate the need to reduce the size of government, maximize freedom, and return to the Constitution. We will call upon the Republican Party to come home to its historic values and show them the path back to electoral success.

“The event will run in conjunction with the first two days of the Republican National Convention and will feature top conservative speakers, musicians, and organizations.”

We are actively pursuing top notch speakers, musicians, and sponsors. We are very excited about future developments in this area and will be making more announcements in the coming weeks.

“It will also have an organizational and training function for the Campaign for Liberty and the Freedom Movement.”

Not only will we lay out Ron Paul’s vision for the Campaign for Liberty during Tuesday’s Rally for the Republic, but we will conduct expert training on how to organize and win your precinct, district, and state. Our objective is to fully prepare and equip you on how to take back our government.

Further updates and developments will be released soon.

Exciting days lie ahead for our movement and our message. There is still hope for America, and it is time for us to take personal responsibility and send a clear message that our movement is strong, united, and here to stay. The principles our country were founded upon can once again be restored. Please join us in Minnesota on August 31 - September 2 as we take an important step toward restoring the Republic!

We are extending this meetup to cover Tarrant as well as Dallas and will meet in Arlington because it's central.

Please come even if you don't like the drive. Dave has important things to talk about, and this is your opportunity to give all of us going to the CFL Summit your feedback, as well as discuss the future of our combined activities as a major group in DFW.

Please also do bring $10 to donate toward our people going to MN if you can, and plan to eat at Joey's to cover the room.

=================================================

Here's Jarrod's original post to the Dallas meetup:

Dave Cary, a Ron Paul Supporter, will discuss Parental Rights and the Constitution. This will then lead into a discussion about our future as a group. In particular, the individuals who will be representing us at the Liberty Leadership Summit will take wishes of the group to St. Paul. There, they will collaborate with others from across the country in order to determine the future of the Campaign for Liberty.

I am also asking for a donation of $10 to help me pay for my trip to St. Paul. I'm going to the RNC as a Guest, but I'm really there to aid our delegates/alternates as they navigate the sludge that is the Republican National Convention. It's an expensive endeavor (just try looking for a hotel room in the state). Obviously, it's not mandatory; you don't have to attend to donate and you don't have to donate to attend.

About Dave Cary:
Dave Cary may be a small government, Constitutional advocate, but his big passion is as an advocate for Parental Rights, the rights to the enjoyment of our families free of government interference unless a clear and convincing need has been established through due process.

Dave was founding Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq ITWO) from June 1992 to May 1999. During that time, i2 grew from a start up to over $5 billion in valuation. While at i2, Dave led the successful efforts to fund i2 internally, thus keeping i2 agile and able to quickly build products for its world class customers. Dave led the successful IPO in 1996.

Dave was head of the audit committee on the Board of Directors of Neon Systems, Inc (Nasdaq: NEON) for a number of years until its successful sale and is now COO for another enterprise software startup.

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from San Francisco State University and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.

This will be our primary meeting for April. We will discuss the current status of the campaign, including some prospects for helping states that still have upcoming primaries. We will also review our goals for the State Convention and discuss where local and statewide plans currently sit with respect to strategy, communications, fundraising, etc.

VISITORS ARE WELCOME at this meeting, including in particular supporters of other current or former GOP Presidential Candidates and *any* Republican State Convention Delegates who want to know what the "Ron Paul People" are planning and trying to accomplish.

The location will be determined and posted within the next couple days, at which point this meeting will be broadly advertised.
