Re: illegal immigration
April 16, the Senate approved, with overwhelming bipartisan support,
Senate Concurrent Resolution 16, which calls on the president and
Congress to "secure our nation's borders and to aggressively enforce all
existing federal immigration laws." This sends a strong message from the
General Assembly to leaders in Washington that Ohioans are concerned
about the impact of illegal immigration and want to see action now to
address the issue.
Senate Bill 260, which was also approved by the Senate April 16,
would authorize a county sheriff, at the discretion of their local boards
of county commissioners, to take custody of persons being detained for
deportation.
In addition, the bill would give county sheriffs the opportunity to assist
in the investigation, apprehension and detection of aliens who violate
criminal or civil provisions of federal immigration law should federal
immigration officials ask for their assistance.
This bill passed the Ohio senate unanimously week before last.
It is important that we all contact our representatives now and
ask them to also pass this bill!

Liberty items for the troops

Capt Joshua Tucker currently stationed in Afghanistan.

I would like to see if anyone has any Liberty-type items that they
would like to send in care packages to the troops. I can receive
the packages, unpack them and put them in spots where troops
have access to them. Some items off the top of my head that you
can send:

- Books:
- Magazines:
- Any Ron Paul/Liberty type literature: Slim Jims, business cards,
pamphlets, copies of the Constitution.
- Freedom type DVDs, shows, documentaries. "Freedom to Fascism"
- You can mix in basic toiletry items like small shaving gel cans,
toothbrushes, etc.
- Anything else you would like to send

When I talk politics to many of the guys, they have a libertarian
view toward the world. But almost none of them knew of Ron Paul.
I will be here for 3 more months. It takes approx 10 days for a
package to arrive from the states.
