Revealing comments, indeed, from former-Kansas-state-trooper now end-times-prognostic
ator Greg Evensen. Mr. Evensen says he is not "qualified to assess those prophesized (sic) events from a theological perspective," but then proceeds to refer to "the tribulation," "Satan," "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and other mythological "end-times" theological features. He provides a handy list of preachers that he says "pretend to speak for their followers while chasing stardom and money that is their true god and their real goal in life." His list is comprised of Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton. (Notably, all black folk.) It is curious that preachers Rod Parsley and John Hagee, two of the wild-eyed televangelists that are among John McInsane's spiritual advisers, are not included on Mr. Evensen's list. Perhaps that's because Parsley and Hagee also extort treasure from their hapless audiences and chase "stardom and money" by making frequent references to mythological end-times features. Mr. Evensen's appeal for "donations" in the middle of his essay is noted. The profound and most original slogan at the head of Mr. Evensen's web site is: "Clean 'em, load 'em, stack 'em, and prepare to use 'em!" With characters like this around to provide fodder for the rhetorical cannons, the job of ridiculing libertarians is made an easy one. And, providing such a link on a board associated with Ron Paul, belittles and besmirches that for which Ron Paul has worked and advocates. At the foot of Mr. Evensen's web site is this quotation: "As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Apparently, Mr. Evensen's lord told him to "Clean 'em, load 'em, stack 'em, and prepare to use 'em!" I wouldn't know whether to fear more "the authorities" and the hungry hordes, or Mr. Evensen in his cowboy hat, string tie and suit costume. --------------------
