You are close.
If you vote in the Republican Primary you are eligible to attend the Precinct Convention held right after the election closes at 7PM at the same location.
At this convention you pick delegates and alternates. It is from all these delegates and alternates that the Ron Paul National Delegates will come from. So if we have a majority at all of these conventions then Ron Paul will be the Candidate.
After the Precinct Convention, there is the State Senatorial District conventions and then the State Convention. The second two have to work with the delegates that come from the first level.
So the plan is to build our structure downward into the neighborhoods and then use Advokit to work the neighborhood voters. It’s a contact management software designed for political campaigns.

September Meeting
Hey, Kameron:
My thoughts are that opinion polls, popular votes and passing out Ron Paul stuff doesn't help us much if we can't swing the delegate / electoral votes. I'm still learning the process myself and could use a little primer on the steps. I know you told us this previously, but now I think I can absorb the process better.
My understanding is that we need to get people to vote at the primaries and then attend the precinct party after the primary vote on March 4. If we attend this precinct party with as many Ron Paul voters as possible, then we get to send the electoral votes. Is that right in my simple explanation??? If I'm even close on the explanation, shouldn't we be concentrating on securing people, family, friends to go to the primaries, voting and then attending the precinct party? I'm trying to gather 20 people at a minimum to do this to do this.
Thanks!
karen

Meeting
Hello all and thanks again for joining this Meetup.
Originally I had the idea that we should have a monthly rally in Austin on the
grounds of the capital. I thought we could start with a small group and work
the meeting up to a large gathering after a few successive gatherings. It is
still a good idea.
However, I have been heavily involved with Ron Paul Friends USA building a
nationwide network and other Ron Paul activities and have not developed the
Texas Monthly gathering meeting concept.
The idea of a large gathering in a central part of Texas is still a good idea
but September has come and gone and no planning for the even occurred. There
had been good growth on several fronts with the meetups and the campaign
leading the charge.
We could do a virtual meetup and use that to plan a live event further down the
road. I am going to reschedule the virtual meet up for another time and will
announce it.
I welcome your ideas and involvement on the Texas State Meetup Idea.
