Jason Newcomb Campaign Update and Request

Dear fellow Ron Paul Supporters,

I really want to thank the many of you who have helped in my campaign for the Florida House 69 seat so far. All of the contributions are starting to add up, and many of you have pledged to get petitions signed and even taken some from me.

I want to announce that an office space has been donated by Jerry Ripo so we presently have a campaign headquarters.

If anyone has older but useable computer equipment that would be great too. Just get in contact with me if you want to donate any office equipment to the campaign.

I just had a very unpleasant conversation with the chief of staff for the House campaigns of the republican party of Florida. He was actually very nice and cordial, and I liked him. But the sum of the conversation was that the republican party really doesn't want me in the race, that they will be investing money that they don't want to have to spend in defeating me, that they will use my association with the Ron Paul campaign and anything else they can come up with to attack me personally whether true or not, and that they will probably not give me access to the republican "voter vault."

Now, keep in mind that he was very pleasant about it all, and I really did come away from the conversation feeling that he was a good guy. Most of this information was presented indirectly to me, but the message was clear. The republican party wants to choose its candidates from the top down, and I am not their candidate.

At this time, I am going to continue forward with my campaign but I really am going to need all of your help more than ever. I know that I am not Ron Paul, and that I do not have his credibility or record, but I really do care about the future of this country and want to make a difference. I think we can do so with this campaign.

But if I don't have your support then I don't have any support, so I hope that you all will come forward and help in at least some small way.

The absolutely most pressing issue is getting petitions. And now I know that we must do this as quickly as possible because a smear campaign of one kind or another is surely in the works. (If you receive any negative print or internet materials on me, please forward them to me as I will be taking legal action if my reputation is harmed by any of these people).

I still have about 800 petitions to collect. There are over three hundred people on these lists. If each of you could just get 5 to 10 petitions for me I'd be on the ballot easily, and no one would have to work very hard at it. Surely you each have a few friends in district 69. Then we'd be able to concentrate on more important matters like getting votes.

My petition is available online here:

If you volunteered as a precinct leader for Ron Paul, surely you know a few people that were planning to vote for him. Get them to sign my petition. Get your friends and neighbors to sign my petition. We are a big group and we need to show our power if we are to have any influence on anything. If we could get my petitions all signed by the end of the week that would really be a powerful message.

Many people have asked for more information before they will sign a petition. Here's a slimjim that you can print.

It is fairly conservative in its language and character. I will be creating a more independent-minded slim jim at some point soon. Use this one for now.

I really need your help as soon as possible. Please get in touch with me. If you have already collected signatures please let me know so that I can add them to the total collected so far. You can just reply to this message.

Wish me luck,
Jason Newcomb
