Mike becker is running for Town Council

Due to the recent passing of councilmember Keith McMahan, the Mayor and Town Council of Fountain Hills are set to select a replacement May 7th. Seven other candidates and I have applied for the position.



I am against raising property taxes.

I am for increasing town involvement with our schools.

I am for removing barriers to do business in Fountain Hills

I am for aggressively pursuing retailers for the Shea corridor and Town Center to increase sales tax revenues rather than raising the sales tax rate. The state may add 1% as it is.

I am for fiscal responsibility and increasing public input regarding capital improvements.

The spending on the new light on Palisades and the proposed paving of an alley amounts to an expenditure of a half million dollars. That could be used elsewhere like towards repaving Saguaro. The town is considering a special election for a property tax bond issue to cover paving Saguaro and building a climbing lane on Shea.

I own a Real Estate Software company that has managed to grow during the collapse because we cut back, reduced our debt, and found new ways to extend our market. I would like to bring that success to the town.
