Caution re: Bob Barr for President

All,

As stated earlier, I've already made up my mind to request a write in
ballot for President, and vote for Ron Paul. I won't go into the
logic behind that move here, but strongly recommend it for a variety
of reasons.

If anyone is considering voting for the Libertarian Party candidate
for President, it appears highly likely that Bob Barr will be the LP
candidate. However, there is a significant problem with Barr. He
was appointed to a major public relations position by the national
Libertarian Party, and is now a major candidate for President as a
Libertarian. Yet he continues to run the "Bob Barr Leadership
Fund," a PAC, that has donated to a number of highly questionable
candidates. The most disturbing example is his donation to Saxby
Chambliss. There is a well qualified Libertarian candidate running
against Chamblis (Allen Buckley, an attorney from Atlanta). So Barr
is directly opposing his own new-found Party by financially
supporting Chamblis, a Republican, and excluding Buckley, the
Libertarian candidate, from any contributions.

Here is a partial list of contributions made by Barr's PAC. All of
these are for the 2007/2008 election cycle, not previous election
campaign contributions before Barr joined the Libertarian Party and
became a major spokesman.

Craig, Larry (R-ID) $1000
Chambliss, Saxby (R-GA) $3000
Hagel, Chuck (R-NE) $2000
Sununu, John (R-NH) $3000
Broun, Paul Jr (R-GA) $9,500
Specter, Arlen (R-PA) $1,000
Gingrey, Phil (R-GA) $2300
Paul, Ron (R-TX) $1000 (way back on 18 Jun 2007)

Compare Barr's contributions to Saxby Chambliss ($3000) against his
contribution to Ron Paul (only $1000). Thanks, Bob....

These figures are from the most recent FEC report (20 April 2008),
and can be verified at:

Like I said, I'm sticking with a write-in ballot for Ron Paul.
