Main purpose is to meet each other, and to discuss coalition building and "term limits". George Devine,
a Co-Chair of the Ulster Co. Independence Party will be here for one, and hopefully, Don Silberger
of the Libertarian Party too. Raquel will represent the Conservative Party, and of course there will
Republicans too.

I am hopeful that this meeting will be the beginning of a broad-based coalition to advance freedom in New York, beginning with Election reform. Shortly, NYS will be a 'one party' operation, and we must find a way to neutralize this situation.

I am a Co-Chair of the NYS Republican Liberty Caucus - the libertarian Republicans - and I have ties
to hundreds of "limited-government types" from around the State. This coalition is quite diverse --
libertarians, conservatives, and constitutionalists -- but we can find common ground around particular causes and candidates.

As I have stated previously, this site is about to close down as we are attempting to consolidate this
group with others in the Hudson Valley. Please RSVP here BUT email me too since I do not know

    It looks like we are set; there should be about 15 of us there including Don Silberger and Gary Treitzman, two State Board members of the LPNY. George Devine, our "speaker" will be there too. George is a Co-Chair of the Ulster Co. Independence Party. I received a call tonight from Howie Rich, a trustee of the Cato Institute and the founder and Chairman of US Term Limits, who gave me some insights to share with the attendees. Most of the attendees are from the 'new' group, and a few others

    • “ This was actually the first Meet Up of the "new" group - Republican Liberty Caucus - Hudson Valley Region. Other Meet Ups will be held in New Paltz (Ulster), and other venues throughout the Hudson Valley. Interesting discussions, interesting, motivated folks from 4 different political parties with a common interest in 'limiting government. One or two folks from this group were there, the balance were folks from the "new group" and new people too. Venue was too small for the numbers involved. Everyone wanted to Meet Up again right away, and probably a new meeting will be held four weeks from yesterday, with the discussion being moved to a 'hall' -- probably the New Paltz Village Hall -- after diner. Some "finds" -- a webmaster, a data manager (with data), two video people, and at least one experienced candidate for the 2009 elections. All in all, a great night! Carl ”
