Meeting Description: Hi everyone,

The Amit Singh for Congress Team (that means us) will be meeting at the Fairfax County Republican Committee meeting:

Wednesday, February 13, 8 - 9 pm

Social period 7:15 - 8:00; meeting starts at 8pm
Location: George Mason High School
7124 Leesburg Pike (Rte. 7), Falls Church
(at Haycock Rd., just east of I-66)

Amit will be introducing himself at this county-wide GOP meeting and he DEFINITELY needs our support. We will also collect ballot petition signatures from the meeting attendees and discuss important campaign issues amongst ourselves.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to become a Ron Paul delegate to the state & 8th District conventions. Delegate forms will be available at the meeting. There are 2 types of delegates:

1. District Convention Delegates
District convention delegates will elect the 8th District Republican Chairman (Ron Paul supporter Noel Gibeson -OR- Neocon Mike Ginsberg), Member of the Republican State Central Committee (Ron Paul supporter Dan Gabriel is running), and Delegates & Alternate Delegates to the 2008 Republican National Convention (quite a few Ron Paul supporters are running). District convention delegates will also have a chance to cheer on Amit Singh as a guest speaker at the convention (along with neocon Mark Ellmore, who's also running for Congress in the 8th).

2. State Convention Delegates
Delegates to the state convention will write the state GOP party platform, nominate the Republican Senate candidate to run against Mark Warner, and elect delegates to the national GOP convention in St. Paul/MN.

There is a $25 filing fee to become a delegate to the district convention (it might be $35 or more depending on what the Fairfax GOP adds on). I'm not sure about the state convention, but it's probably around the same amount. Please note that I'm only speaking about the 8th district, but other districts have conventions as well, and also ANY REGISTERED VOTER can become a delegate to the District Or State Conventions (OR BOTH). The Cities of Alexandria, Arlington & Falls Church have separate GOP meetings, this meeting is for Fairfax residents but we need EVERYONE to attend to support Amit. Also if anyone in Fairfax has questions, visit the same site. We need all Ron Paul supporters possible to become District AND State delegates!!!
