This is an Appleseed shooting event given by the RWVA (Revolutionary War Veterans Association). I am an instructor with this group and and a member of their national steering committee.

Over the course of the weekend you will learn to hit a 1" square with your rifle from 25 meters, the Rifleman's standard of 4 minutes of angle. You will also learn about the role of marksmanship at Lexington and Concord and how the colonial militias simply out-organized and out-shot the British. Inspirational history that you did NOT learn in school.

Even if you hunt often and can shoot well off a bench, I GUARANTEE that you will learn a whole lot about shooting from the standing, sitting and prone positions. Everyone, police, military and even NRA Highpower shooters who have attended have been vocal about how much they have learned about shooting and how much they have improved in one weekend.

This event is very family friendly. Earlier this year there were over 30 shooters, including many women and children. Active military and children under 16 shoot free.

Camping is available close to the range as are inexpensive hotels. The range is about two hours from downtown. This is a GREAT event and a great way to teach your children to shoot properly.

I have been to dozens of these events and am always amazed at seeing a parking lot full of Ron Paul stickers.
