Happy Holidays Everyone!
I've spoken at length with Jim, volunteer coordinator at the Champaign County Nursing Home, and the biggest need over there is to simply be present and socialize with the patients during this holiday season.

I think it would be of great benefit to our community if we simply volunteered to spend time with the elderly with no motive other than being good people.

This means we identify ourselves by our proper names alone...no other affiliations are to be articulated, whatsoever.

For example: "Hi, my name is Tony, I just wanted to say happy holidays and spend some time in order to find out more about your life. Is that okay?"

I also believe it would do us honor to bring Holiday cards individually signed so that we may leave our friends with a lasting token of our gratitiude.

I've spoken with co-workers and family members and it appears that we'll easily have over 20 volunteers. Two co-workers in particular are bringing their children to help add some holiday cheer, and I invite all members of this meetup with families to do the same if they deem it proper and good.
