or it could be the greatest thread ever........
The vaccine discussion got me thinking about what liberties are important to me and not others, so I'll go first & please respond so I am not hanging here with hand out for a high five that is not returned.....awkward...... What personal freedoms matter most to you? |

Freedom to educate our children as we see fit, and choices regarding healthcare (childbirth & prenatal care, vaccines, etc)....

For me it is firearms & voting(because I don't think we are getting to choose now, we may have not choose for a long time) I also agree about education and healthcare

What Shay says plus the Right to Keep and Bear Arms ensuring civilians always remain on equal strategic and tactical footing as those who keep the peace and enforce the laws. Almost left you hanging, High 5

I would say that property rights, when properly protected, cover most all rights.
In the broadest sense, it even covers taxes, guns, your children, pretty much everything. |

Damn James,
Ya beat me to it. Okay, so property rights, particularly of your own person are #1 Then I would say self defense is #2 Followed by the right to contract with others at #3 That should cover just about any situation involving others I can think of. More subsidiary ones I can think of would be the right to ALL of the fruits of your labor, the right to speak freely, the right of travel, the right of free association. Those would be next up on my list as most important to me. |

Shay, does it have to be rights we are suppose to already have, or can some of them be ones we wish we had?

ooooo....funny you should say that. When I wrote the post I thought of 2 or 3 that we no longer have & then had to rethink what rights we still have that I value (although I guess you could argue we still "have" these rights, they are just restricted, is that correct? I am not a Libertarian theology buff)
ok, so I guess either - which ones do you wish we had? |
