We will be discussing final preparations for the upcoming mock candidate selection session and assigning duties to volunteers willing to help with that event. -----THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF TAXPAYERS 14th ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON will be held at the Capital City Club in Columbia on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 from 11:30am to 2:00pm. Capital City Club is located in the Capital Center Building, located across the street from the State House in Columbia. The Capital City Club requires coat and tie. The cost of the luncheon is $25.00 per person, which includes a three course meal. All 2010 candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor have been invited. "Friend of the Taxpayers” awards will be presented at this luncheon (three from Greenville County). Elected officials, constitutional officers, candidates for office, sponsors, lobbyists and taxpayers from all over the state usually attend this important luncheon. Senator David Thomas, Candidate for Congress 4th District and Robert Bolchoz, Candidate for Attorney General & Dean Allen for Adjutant General will be our guest speakers. Other candidates for office are invited to attend and speak. Reports will be made on passage of the "Sovereignty Resolution and Voter ID legislation. Update on State Government spending, budget cuts and other issues included in Butch Taylor's letter to Greenville County Legislative Delegation.
