As he announced that his presidential campaign will be winding down, Ron Paul also reminded us the other day that our job now is to prepare for the next phase. In the words of Dr. Paul: ?Elections are short term events; revolutions are long term projects.? While Ron Paul will continue this fight, he has urged us that this fight for freedom "has to be more than a Ron Paul Revolution.?
I would urge everyone to continue the fight that this "Ron Paul Revolution" has inspired among so many Americans, and so many Floridians. One way to do this is to get involved with The James Madison Institute here in Florida. JMI is Florida's only free-market think-tank. It is focused on economic issues and advocate for less government interference in people's lives and provides free-market solutions to issues ranging from property taxes, education, health care, energy, the environment, and property insurance. For more, go to www.jamesmadison.org JMI is based right here in Tallahassee and if you're not a member yet, you can sign up at: http://www.jamesmadis... JMI distributes literature to all its members as well as all legislators to keep Floridians informed about their government and advocates proactive free-market solutions through these papers. JMI members also get invitations to events in Tallahassee and across the state. For example, JMI recently held a forum here in Tallahassee on health care where we brought in experts from leading national institutions such as CATO. You can read about it here: http://www.naplesnews... JMI can also provide speakers for events. Please let me know if you would like us to organize something for the Ron Paul meetup group here in Tallahassee. I would be happy to assist so that we can keep up the momentum that the Ron Paul revolution inspired. In the words of James Madison, "I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." JMI continues to live by Mr. Madison's words to exppose those "silent encroachments by those in power."
