The Ballot Access Requirements have been met!

I just got off the phone with John Downey, the guy responsible for obtaining ballot access here in Indiana. He said that every district is in the clear!

I told him that we still have a bunch of signatures to turn in, and he said to go right on ahead, it's better to be safe than sorry. So this is for everyone that has collected any signatures: Please turn them in to your county clerk's office by February 12th, preferably at least a week before. Ask them to verify them while you're still there, and once they've done this, get the signature sheet back and find a way to get it to either Ray Jensen or myself, as we'll be FedExing them down to Indy. If you don't know where the county clerk's office is in your particular county and can't find it online, email me, I'll help you find it.

We can relax a little bit now as we don't have a looming deadline, but don't relax too much as Super Tuesday is coming up!

I've heard from a lot of Michigan residents that have extra yard signs and literature, so we'll be getting an influx of those two items in the near future. I hope to be able to send quite a bit of that to Illinois (a Super Tuesday state) and spread the rest around the state to other groups that are in need of supplies.

On that note, I received an email from Rhonnie, the Kalamazoo group organizer. Here it is in its entirety

We have leftover signs and literature, dvd's that needs to be
picked up from the home I am moving from...asap.
The owners will dump them and I would hate to see these go to
waste. They should be brought to Indiana, Ohio or Illinois.

At least 50 2x4 signs, 3 4x8 signs, 50 yard signs. This does
not include the signs that are probably along roadways still
that need to be picked up..

If there is interest...contact me asap.
Thanks,
Rhonnie

I can't drive that far with my car, it's still shifting rough and I'm worried about putting lots of miles on it. If anybody from the group is willing to make the trip, let me know ASAP! If you make the trip, I'll find a way to reimburse you for gas. Somebody with a truck would be ideal, as the 4' by 8' yard signs can only fit into a truck (maaaaybe a van, but that's questionable.

That's all for now. We have a meeting coming up in exactly a week in which we'll unfurl our plans for the future. I haven't chosen a location yet, but it may be at the Perkins in Elkhart, I'm not sure yet. Keep your eyes open for that one.
