Hi all, its been a while since any messages came out so I thought I'd link you to some things worth reading.
The first is a decent article from AOL about Ron Paul's impact on the Republican Party. There's a poll at the bottom. Be sure to vote. Also, speaking of polls there's a
weekly one also on AOL (It restarts every Monday). Ron Paul has carried VT over the last few weeks but by a very small margin. If you aren't voting on that you really should.

Who's reading
The Revolution: A Manifesto? I am and it's fantastic. I'm about halfway through and so far I want to broadcast this entire thing from my roof so it can be heard all over Barre. And beyond. I really encourage everyone to buy at least 2 copies of the book and pass them around. I have 2, one I'm sending to my grandpa who will pass it on to someone else. The one I'm reading now I'm going to write the web address for the VT meetup in and pass it on as well. My intention is to pass it within the local Republican community. I'm probably going to be buying more.
Speaking of the Republican community, everyone really needs to get involved. I'm telling you, the more meetings I attend the more I see a real lack of interest from people under 60. There are maybe a handful of younger people who are genuinely interested in making a difference locally and the others are in it for the cushy job. We really do have a good chance of re-Constitutionalizing the party here in the state simply by showing up. There are neo-cons, don't get me wrong. One of them is my own state senator Bill Doyle who conveniently left Ron Paul's name off the town meeting day survey. When introduced to him, I was identified as a Ron Paul supporter. He asked me in response if I intended to vote for John McCain. I flatly refused and he wasn't impressed, but I don't care. The message is too important to back down and we need these people to know it.
There are other states where supporting Ron Paul seems to be a real liability, but despite what I just said I don't think VT is going to be like them. Maybe because the RP community is so spread out and we haven't shown ourselves to be a threat numbers-wise. This could be to our advantage because, like Ron Paul said, "Freedom is popular!" Getting our feet in the door and getting a feel for who's who and what's what is going to be tremendously important. It's time to start building alliances. The state convention is on Saturday-- I'm still not sure whether I can attend (it's my son's birthday weekend)-- but I encourage everyone to go if you can make it-- ESPECIALLY if you've been to a Republican meeting previously.
Ok, the rambling has begun... :)
