Re: [ronpaul-196] About the GOP Meeting in Montpelier last saturday

we are all naive at some time, maybe hopeful that others will speak the "truth" - but people are afraid, liers, change agents, & disinformation ploys.Would rob roper address the Hate Crime Bill sponsored by Leahy & Sanders  -  promulgated by the ADL? No, they're  all in bed w/ the zionists that will get israel  & the whole middle east blown off the face of the map. But they don't care. ( & the deployment of all of the D.U. has made it a toxic wasteland - forever).   They have got the "christians" killing he muslims, for the jews, so the catholics & vatican can come in & mediate on the templemount in jerusalem - to bring to fruition a one world satanic religion & the new world order.   Will anyone on true (faux) north ( very occult) admit that 911 was  a joint cia/massod operation? until we expose the true perpetrators of all of this gov sponsored terrorism ( the hegelian dialectic) we are doomed.   A lot of people want the population reduced, & i think are just hoping they'll get a waiver.   What about that secret meeting -3/18/08-  in the house? why don't we hear more people clamoring for answers about what is being planed for us. If  no one is  talking about it,  maybe they are part of it?   - radkin

I went to the Washington County GOP meeting last night. You're right, Marek. It is time to come out of the woodwork. I know I sound perpetually frustrated, but after last night's meeting I'm inspired again.

I was received quite well there, many people coming up to me and introducing themselves. "Riverboat" John Gilligan (he describes himself as a Libertarian-Republican) encouraged me to come after hearing me on True North and sort of took me under his wing. The Barre Town folks were really excited to see a new Republican from their district and encouraged me to attend the town committee meeting next month which I plan to do. A request was made for people to sign up to be on the platform committee, which I did. Now I have to wait and see if I get the call.

As for Rob Roper, I'm not sure how I feel about him. Those commercials really bothered me. Maybe I'm naive, but a typical Democrat is not stripping in the winter to protest marijuana laws. And as far as I can see the drug war is an affront to civil liberties and a huge burden on the taxpayer. Roper disagrees completely. There is much work to be done, but only if  thoughtful and liberty-minded people make the effort.

Hello all;

 I want to share a few things from the GOP meeting that was held last Saturday in Montpelier.  There were four of us active Ron Paul supporters there in a crowd of about 25 people and at the beginning of the meeting, the chairman Rob Roper made a point of recognizing us having done so much work before the primary for Dr. Paul, for which we got a large round of applause.  We were not expecting this, but people were quite enthusiastic and afterwards many came up individually to ask about our efforts and the meetup group.

Now, it is interesting that the chairman made such a point of recognition, and more than it has to do with Ron Paul, it has to do with the fact that we were the first new faces at such a meeting in a long time.  It was openly discussed throughout the meeting that the VTGOP is shrinking and has very few young people involved.  They're stretching for new ideas about getting the word out; for example they had made two 60 second commercials that comedically put down the democrats, one of which had a guy taking his shirt and pants off to get attention while holding up a 'legalize marijuana' sign on a sidewalk.

I don't think people were really too impressed or excited about such tactics, what they really want is a growing party, so the point of this email is that this is absolutely the time for us to get involved.  To make a real difference, we can't keep completely separate from the actual party and this is a time where they are looking for people to run for district representatives amongst other positions; the most notable being the congressional seat against Welsh.  As of now they have no one, and some people were so discouraged that they suggested not even wasting resources to platform a candidate who would probably lose; most, however, do want to put forth a competative candidate.

If anyone has ideas, wants more info or potentially wants to run for a position, contact Rob Roper.  He is very approachable and like I said, starved for new ideas and people, so our presence can be strongly felt.  The number to reach him is 802-223-3411, or by email at [address removed]
