Weekly Report for 2008 May 20
Howdy there, fellow Ron Paul revolutionaries! :D
Last Tuesday, Nebraska held its Republican primary election. 87% of its voters favored John McCain while 13% favored Ron Paul. These results are not binding in any way, though.
Last Saturday, I had hoped to drive to Idaho to canvass voters. Unfortunately, I became terribly ill on Sunday evening and missed some schoolwork, did not catch up with it until Friday, and then had only one day left (Saturday) to take an exam. So, I never made it to Idaho last week. And, as far as I know, nobody else did, either.
Today, both Oregon and Kentucky held Republican primary elections. I'll try to post these elections' results before long. Did anyone help Ron Paul to canvass voters in these states?
Tonight, eleven of us met at the Kemp home in Orem to discuss our revolution's long-term future. Sometime this week, I hope to post a report of ideas that we discussed. Also, I've decided to give the Republican Liberty Caucus of Utah County Meetup group a new name plus a broader focus so that its efforts won't necessarily be limited to the Republican Party. Because it's an unofficial RLC Meetup group rather than an official local RLC chapter, this will be easy.
This Saturday would be an excellent day to go canvass voters in person in Idaho. It will also be our last Saturday to do so before Idaho's Republican primary election. Would anyone like to go do this? And perhaps bring me along? Please visit our message board for details.
Next Tuesday, Idaho will hold its Republican primary election. And, one week after that, three more states (namely, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Montana) will hold theirs, as well. So, if you should have some spare time during evenings and/or weekends between now and June 3rd, then please sign up to become a "precinct leader" at Ron Paul's official campaign website to help canvass voters by telephone in these states. If we don't inform voters about Ron Paul, then who will?
Is there anything else that we should be trying to do? Or that we should know? Do any of you have anything else that you'd like to share with us? If so, then please feel free to share it with us all on our message board at your leisure. And please try to visit it as regularly as you can--if you haven't been doing this, then you've probably been missing things.
Have a great week, y'all, and thanks for Paulunteering! :D
