New York for Ron Paul wrote:
I have been working with the Senior Board over at revolution March. Here is one proposal for a two day class that I had envisioned before the march. I thought people could come for the week either before or after. A convention would be good. Because some may have time to show up only on the weekend, some the following week and some the week before. This class could be three days. The only hard part is that some people want to manage campaigns, some want to run for office and some want to lobby their current members of congress. A smart strategy is to integrate all three. This doesn't do the class justice but it is an outline. I am thinking that people who want to show up two or three days before the march and then reserve some time to visit the Congress and let the congressmen know we exist and push for certain types of legislation. The good thing is we can change the outline. But the day one agenda is really important, otherwise the movement will engage in lots of activity spinning its wheels with no real goal in mind. While it is great to teach tactics, there must be a strategy. Day 1 - Choosing When, Where, How and Why to Fight I. Real Nature of Politics and Politicians (2 hours) II. Then, on Friday, July 11th, those people will actually be going to the capitol, and lobbying their representatives. With the march Saturday, and then the Sunday event, it would make it a four-day patriot retreat, basically! For more information about the Thursday training and Friday lobbying days, please contact Deborah Robinet via the Revolution March site (just click contact) at www.revolutionmarch.com. With that in mind, the Travel & Lodging Committee for Revolution March 2008 is seeking local level city organizers to assist with coordination of the convoy meetup in their city.
