Hi all - sorry for the short notice, but for those that can make it on Sunday we can go over the ETF rally scheduled for 4-25-09...if people want we can get together sometime during the week as well. Basically, here's the rundown: 1: Pre-event unofficial meetup at St. Stanislaus church (same place as before) at 11:30...walk/march through the Strip on the way to the Federal Reserve building. 2: Noon, protest in front of Fed. Downtown may be deserted or it may not be...it happened to be lightup night last time but who knows. 3: When we get bored standing around in an hour or so, we'll either march back up the Strip and / or split up and maybe flyer other parts of town (ie: southside, shadyside, oakland)...there are also several pedestrian overpasses (hot metal bridge, 376/blvd of allies, bigelow blvd) that we could stand with big signs/banners...a little like "Paint the Town Paul" sign blitzes (except we'll stand with the signs and take them with us). I'm really looking forward to getting information out to the public! I'd certainly welcome any ideas, etc. Thanks! -DaveP Needs: signs, banner(s), lots of handouts (H.R. 1207, legislature trifolds, the ETF), someone to videotape

US Congressman Jason Altmire will be holding a "Congress on your Corner" meeting at Northland Public Library on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 2:30-4:00pm. Mr. Altmire refers to himself as very centrist. He replaced conservative Melissa Hart in this 4th district. He voted for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and also voted to recoup AIG bonuses. For more information on Mr. Altmire and to see where he stands on the issues, go to www.altmire.house.go v. For more information regarding the meeting at the library, go to www.northlandlibrary .org and click on calendar, or call 412-366-8100. This would be a great time to let our voices be heard and let Mr. Altmire know that we are paying attention to how he votes on these very important issues.

Today our government is enacting policies that are harmful to our country's prosperity: the stimulus package, the war on achievement and success, the printing of large amounts of money, and the massive amount of debt being accrued for our generation to pay off. In response, show your objections to what is happening to our country. Attend this Tea Party protesting the government's excessive intervention in the free market and confiscation of productive income. The event's duration has been tightened to a little over an hour since many of the attendees are working people who will be squeezing it into their lunch hour. Jim Quinn from the talk show "Quinn and Rose" will be our Emcee for the event!! Speakers will appear in this order: Nan Swift from FreedomWorks of D.C. will discuss their fight for lower taxes, less government and more freedom. Paul Rohricht, state coordinator for the 9.12 Project, to discuss their mission and opportunities. Constance Craven, educator, to discuss the forces of liberalism in universities and its impact on our youth. Glen Meakem, new economy innovator and leader, host of the“Glen Meakem Radio Program”, managing director of Meakem Becker Venture Capital, co-founder of FreeMarkets, Inc. and veteran of the Gulf War, will be the keynote speaker If you'd like, bring canned goods for the Northside Commons Ministries. To get in the mood for the event, do your taxes and calculate the total percentage of your income that is going to federal, state, local and property taxes. Don't forget to double your fica and medicare tax if you are an employee as your employer pays that tax for you instead of giving it to you! The download section on www.PennsylvaniaTeaP arty.com has an Excel spreadsheet to help you calculate this. What better way to protest taxes or educate people about the Federal Reserve than on tax day? Tea Parties in Orlando and Cleveland have drawn over 4,000 people each. Show the world Pittsburgh is just as perturbed as these cities! This event will not be canceled and will be held whether rain or shine or snow! See this website for more detail

Hey all - For all who are interested in the 3 upcoming Tea Party / End The Fed / Bailout Protests later this month and want to make signs are welcome to come over and use our supplies, etc. (because there's no way I can make enough myself). I'm thinking of using a projector to shine text or whatever on posterboard, which can be traced out with a sharpie, then filled in later with whatever you like, marker, paint, etc. Since the Sunday @ 2PM time slot seemed to work well last time we'll try that again. So get some posterboard (like $.50 at walmart) or some foamboard (~$3-8 depending on size)...not *too* big in case it's windy...come with a graphic or slogan (there are many competing themes...I honestly don't know what the Tea Party is officially protesting other than the high taxes that will be needed to fund the bailouts) and we'll make some signs that will get noticed! If anyone is interested in or is already making a big banner or two please get in touch with me...that would be a good thing to have. Hope to see you all! -DaveP

Send a Message to Senator Specter to Protect Workers Rights It's time to send a message to President Obama and Senator Specter. First President Obama and the big spenders in Washington passed a wasteful $1 trillion "stimulus" bill. Then, they passed a $410 billion "omnibus" spending bill with 8,500 pork barrel earmarks. Now the Obama and Pelosi teams are trying to take away the secret ballot from American workers. Their bill is deceivingly named the Employee Free Choice Act, and if it passes, American workers will lose their right to a secret ballot election when a union wants to organize their job. Senator Specter may be the deciding vote on this key piece of legislation. We need to send him a strong message that the so-called Employee Free Choice Act is an enormous assault on our democratic values and on our rights here in Pennsylvania and across the nation. Americans for Prosperity will be joined by Joe the Plumber in taking our Save My Ballot Tour across Pennsylvania to deliver a message to Senator Specter, the lawmakers in Washington, and the media, that ordinary citizens will stand up to defend our freedom from the onslaught of big government policies that threaten to take it away. Join us and make your voice heard at one of our stops in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia, and please forward this message to your friends and family to help spread the word about this dangerous piece of legislation. Mon., March 30th | 530-7pm | Pittsburgh | Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh Green Tree (I believe that I grabbed the address of the correct Radisson hotel) For more details go to the Save My Ballot website: http://savemyballot. com/?fc_c=1385481x29 24011x92727856

Hi all - those that responded to the doodle poll indicated that Sunday @ 2-4 PM would work out the best to organize for the upcoming Tea Parties (including RTR/ETF's and Glenn Beck's 9-12/wesurroundthem project's). My printer's are acting up, so if anybody has handouts/pamphlets/s igns to be printed up get them to me ASAP so I can have enough. Hope to see you all this weekend! -DaveP
