Who attended?
Estimated attendance:  14  people attended.
4.25

The location has been changed from point state park to the Hilton due to construction of the fountain and other areas of the park.

The group will rally together at 11:45 in front of the Hilton Hotel in downtown Pgh. We will then march to the federal building down liberty avenue at noon. We will then stand together till 2 pm with signs and will distribute informative material and conversation to passers by regarding the fed reserve, monetary policy, income tax, etc. This event will happen the same dayk on a larger scale in D.C. For those that are unable to make it to D.C this provides a local alternative to getting active. Even if there are only 5-10 people it will still be an event worth the effort!
We ask that people please dress to project a "good image" to the public while representing our message. Nothing over done but nice, not sloppy.

*SUPPLIES:
Ruth and Sara have created pamplets under the "file" section that can be printed out and distributed to passers by. Also, Andy (A) has made a few hundred copies of Freedom to Fascism DVD's to hand out to people as well. Anyone going downtown should contact him at least a week prior to get a hold of those for distribution. Anyone willing can make some signs to take with you!

if anyone wants to read a transcript of McCain's $2000 speech in PGH on tax day, i posted it here: http://neithercorp.us/npres... the whole speech is about economics and he didn't mention the Fed even once... what a tool.

I really need to get a second car. I would have loved to make it today...I think I'll try to hit the Castle Shannon post office tonight.

Planned Parenthood supporters will be protesting McCain downtown today. As much as I'd love to protest McInsane, I might start a pro-life counter-protest against the pro-choicers. Anyone else game?

Hi everyone. I'll be there with my good and knowledgeable ally, Brandon, along with some copies I made of AFTF, some handouts with quotes about the Federal Reserve, RP signs, and possibly one very big SHUT DOWN THE FEDERAL RESERVE/RON PAUL 2008 banner. I'll have DV cameras as well, so I'll have my work cut out for me. What do you guys think, should I wear a suit or a Penguins jersey?

Some people have suggested going to your local post offices during the day and evening as well with big signs for Ron Paul that involve the abolition of the IRS, etc. This is a great idea so if you can't make it to this or you want to do both head out to the P.O.'S!

Well the clock is ticking..primaries are just around the corner. We have to be heard NOW. I am helping Sara to organize since she will be in DC. I will be at the Hilton with supplies. The liberties of our country, the freedom of the Constitution were purchased with the blood of our ancestors. Will we continue to uphold the Constitution or will we allow our just inheritace to be taken without a struggle? Our duty as patriots is to stand together. The more voices, the louder we become

For anyone that put maybe, try to change your RSVP to yes or no now that we are less than a week away. This way the organizer can determine how many people are coming and start emailing those that will be attending. Thanks :)

Has anyone alerted the media? Educating passers-by is nice, but TV and newspaper reach more people.

We gotta get enough people to do this. Its not a question. Our cause is the most important cause that we will ever stand up for and Dr. Paul is giving us the opportunity spread the idea of Liberty in our city!!!! What more could we ask for besides the rally in D.C.? Im tired of people being to afraid to stand up for what is right. WE SHOULD ALL MAKE IT OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY TO ATTEND AND LETS GET THIS DONE!!!

Who attended?

It was great to finally meet some fellow Ron Paul supporters but also to help spread the word about the Federal Reserve and the IRS. I'm guessing that many of the other supporters went to the DC rally and thus the number of folks at the Pgh rally were smaller but nonetheless, it was worth it. Cheers.
    •  It was nice meeting more revolutionaries and chatting about a wide variety of topics.

Eventually, what started as a demonstration or "protest" turned into what it should have been, a friendly canvassing operation. This was much more effective in reaching people... but still not enough. What I learned yesterday is, if it's less than 200 people, it's not a demonstration. We're better off just splitting up and TALKING to people. Engage them one on one, and know your facts. Don't hand them paper. Know what you're talking about, and simply TELL people, with the conviction and authority of someone who's done their research. If they have questions, be prepared to answer them. Given the time, most will still listen to a fellow human being who presents a reasonable case in a cordial manner. Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more apparent that civic protest, demonstrations, skillful canvassing, and even well made documentaries are NOT going to get us out of the mess we find ourselves in..................continued below.......................
