What: It has just come to my attention that yesterday, October 20th, Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Bob Corker (R-TN) have introduced a bill called "Federal Reserve Accountability Act", an attempt to kill HR 1207/S 604 by passing a bill that prevents a full audit and full transparency from America's secretive central bank cartel. This is NOT the same thing as S. 604 Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009 which is modeled after Rep. Paul's H.R. 1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. This new Senate bill does not yet have a bill number, but here's what we do know about it:
* It does NOT call for a complete accounting of the Fed. It primarily calls for accounting of the TARP funds,
which is only a small part of the whole Federal Reserve picture.
* The bill does not even touch what funds have been transferred to foreign bank and would not not allow a
review the Fed's inflation of the money supply
* This bill appears to be a compromise, designed to allow senators an out, permitting them to duck true responsibility and accountability at the Fed while fooling their constituents into thinking that they are seeing to it that something is being done about the Fed.

When: Wednesday October 21st all day or ASAP after that
Who: Our two spineless PA Senators
Action: Call them at they're DC offices and tell them:
* This new bill is NOT an acceptable compromise.
* This is a watered down, meaningless bill compared to S.604 which already has over 30 co-sponsors.
* We will not support the bill, and we do not want THEM supporting it, either.
* Instead, we continue to call for their support of S.604.
And while you're at it, demand that they bring S. 604 to the Senate floor to be debated as a stand-alone bill ASAP and to NOT give the Fed expanded powers, which is something the Obama Administration and now members of the U.S. House of Representatives are contemplating.
