A true conservative for House District 89

Dear fellow Citizen,

I?m Russ Vogel, your conservative candidate for legislature in House District 89.  If you, too, are concerned about the erosion of personal liberties and property rights, the attacks on the family, our burgeoning state budget and the continued massive increases in taxes and spending, then I am asking for your vote on June 3^rd.

Entrenched/career politicians are the primary source of these problems.  Many of our leaders believe in big government, and believe that government agents should be able to meddle in every area of your life.  But it will take more than feint-hearted, philosophically confused Republicans to turn things around!

The Republican Party, I fear, is suffering from an identity crisis.  While our party platform is a strong manifesto for conservative values and limited, constitutional government, many of the Republicans we elect nowadays have betrayed their constitutiants by abandonment of the basic conservative party platform.  They promise one thing, but their voting records clearly indicate another. Their voting records on many issues are hand in glove with the philosophy of the liberal Democrat   No wonder ? even with Republican majorities ? government policy in Montana continues to move further and further to the Left.

Unfortunately, House District 89?s incumbent legislator, Gary MacLaren, is one of those ?Republicans? who more often votes with the Democrats than with his own party! He votes for socialism as opposed to conservatism.   According to an exhaustive study by Montana Conservatives, MacLaren took the conservative position on key issues only 29 percent of the time in the last legislature.  When we needed him most on key issues, he was found on the other side of the fence.

 

  With each succeeding session, Gary has gotten progressively more liberal, and no longer represents the views and values of his district.  I would never vote against our property rights as Gary has done.

As a proud signer of the no new taxes pledge, I can be counted on to stand for the conservative  Republican principles we all believe in, and I will  not be swayed by special interest lobbyists or by the liberal Democrats who ?buddy up? to weak Republicans.  I will stand firm for freedom, for families, and for constitutional government.  Every time.

I would be honored to represent you in Helena.  Thank you for your vote.
