Please join the Campaign for Liberty at the monthly Republican Club of Austin luncheon on July 1st at 11:30 a.m.

The speaker will be Austin Bay. (Colonel Bay, USAR retired and served in Iraq in 2004). He's going to be talking about the Global War on Terror and specifically Iraq. He's asked us to watch his TV show pilot called "Consequences: A Rapid US Withdrawal from Iraq." He wrote the script in February 2007 and it was filmed in June 2007. The pilot episode discusses seven scenarious that portray potential results of Reid-Murtha type "fast exit" from Iraq. It's an informative presentation, but I don't buy into his arguments. Here's a link to the pilot TV show:

As one example of the misleading facts this guy is spewing from his war-mongering, neocon mouth - in one scenario (#3 - Turkey expands) he's got a slide that raises alarm that there have been 37,000 deaths already between the Kurds and Turks in the northern region of Iraq since 1984! I intend to point out during the Q&A that there have been 33,000 American military casualties (29,000 wounded and over 4,000 dead) since 2003, and over 1.2 million dead Iraqi's as a result of our interference in their country. If we extrapolate that trend for a similar 24 years, that would be 158,000 American causualties and 6 million dead Iraqis!!! So my question for him is this - is an immediate withdrawal really the greater of 2 evils for his scenario #3?

Please do the homework - watch the show and come up with your own compelling questions to grill this guy during the Q&A. I want your attendance at this meeting guys! This is my call to action of the week! With an informed group of Ron Paul "sheep dogs" there, he will not be able to sway the sheep of the establishment Republicans in Austin into his misguided and misinformed insistence that we stay in Iraq for 100 years. If there is ONE meeting of the Austin Republican Club that I want your attendance at - this is it! We need to let them know that we have WON the war -- and that it's time to declare victory and "just come home!"

If you are reluctant to register and identify yourself as a peace-loving American - you can use my login and password.

However, I encourage you to register because there is a poll after the presentation that asks whether you think we should leave Iraq immediately or not. Currently, it's obvious that the war-mongering neocons are the only ones voting as the peace vote stands at just 2%. Let's give him more honest assessment of what America thinks about ending this unconstitutional war!

If you can't come to the meeting, but you have time to watch his presentation and help me come up with some more questions, I'll distribute the best questions to our group so we "sheep dogs" of liberty can protect the unwitting Republican sheep of the RCA of Austin from eaten by wolves like this guy!

Cost is $20 for members or first-time guests, $25 for non-members. You need to RSVP by sending an e-mail to Jenny Walberg at walberg[at]pottsreilly.com or leaving a message at Potts & Reilly at 512-469-7474.

I look forward to seeing a LOT of us at this meeting!

After asking us to do "homework" for the Q&A, when the speaker realized he was going to be confronted by those of us who had done our homework and were armed with facts, the Q&A was cancelled! They might have well as put duct tapes over our mouths. The stifling of debate was beyond reproach, and indicative of the troubles the Republican party faces here in Austin. Until this changes, Republicans can - and SHOULD - expect to continue to lose elections!
