From Vicki and Karen at VoteRescue...
We got their attention last Tuesday!
Even with just three of us there at Commissioner's Court last Tuesday (due to my own late notice to all of YOU,) we had an impact!
We alerted the Commissioner's Court to the allegations made in the recently unsealed lawsuit against Hart InterCivic, charging that the equipment is insecure, AND that Hart lied to election officials in order to sell the equipment. The Commissioners were paying attention--even asked us to be sure and leave a package of information (which we'd brought for each of them) with the County Attorney. And you can bet we did!
We will be returning next Tuesday to read more condemning information about Hart into the record (and onto their videotape.) WE NEED YOUR HELP once again to come give a 3 minute statement to the Commissioners. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PREPARE anything--we will be happy to give you material to read during your 3 minutes. You DO need to be a resident of TRAVIS County in order to make a citizen comment.
We are beginning to attend these sessions and hope to become "regulars" there because the County Commissioners control the "purse strings" for purchase of voting machine equipment (and any new software versions or licensing renewals, etc.) for the County Election office (Dana DeBeauvoir). We visited each of the Commissioners individually last year and gave them each a notebook of information about the problems with the voting machines, and a copy of our book, "HACKED! High Tech Election Theft in America".
The Court meets in a voting session each Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner?s courtroom on the first floor of the Travis County Administration Building at 314 W. 11th St. , Austin . The public is welcome in the courtroom and it is the practice of the Travis County Commissioners Court to allow the public to testify before the Commissioners Court on any item listed on this agenda, whether it is posted formally as a public hearing or not. (Voting systems are not on their agenda for tomorrow, but we will therefore be allowed to make our comments on them anyway.)
We are working on getting the subject of the Hart Voting Systems on the Agenda for the Court, and there will be a public notice posted when that occurs. We will give you plenty of notice when that happens, because more time will be devoted to this issue and we will try to fill the courtroom with interested citizens. While we are waiting to officially get on their agenda, we intend to continue reading condemning information about Hart into the record and would still love to have as many of you there each Tuesday that we attend as possible.
Each citizen will have 3 minutes to make a statement or read something into the record. Again, the location and info are below:
County Judge: Samuel T. Biscoe
