FW: Santoro For Senate: Ron Paul Republican in Florida

Mark Twain once said "No man's life, liberty or property are safe while the legislature is in session." Unfortunately today that saying holds true, but as citizens we have the power and the opportunity to change that. There is a candidate for State Senate who not only espouses the principles of less government and more freedom, but can convince the majority of Floridians that when it comes to government less is definitely more.

Our state's educational system is in desperate need of change.  It costs Florida's taxpayers approximately $19,000 per child per year to educate.  In comparison, the cost for most private schools ranges between $4,000 and $11,000 per student. So why are private schools so much more efficient and cost effective?  Competition.

Private schools must convince parents to pay them money, while public schools get the money no matter the environment and education they provide.

We as Floridians have an opportunity to elect someone to the State Senate that will introduce and champion legislation that will bring competition and efficiency to public schools.  By assigning a monetary value to each child (well below the current $19,000 in Miami-Dade County) we liberate the parents of the child to choose which public school their child can attend.  Legislation like this would tackle numerous issues;

-It would give parents added power in the decisions affecting their children's education.

-It would decentralize the current system giving more power to those that actually educate our children, while lessening that of administrators, bureaucrats and union bosses.

-It would close wasteful and inefficient schools, which don't attract enough students.

-It would lower taxes needed to fund our public school system while increasing the quality of the education our  children receive.

-It would keep government monies out of private schools, thus keeping them free of government influence.

Legislation like this could lead to more free market ideas and changes, which would ultimately raise our quality of life while at the same time lowering our tax burden.

Who is this candidate who wants to bring more free market ideas to our state? Dean Santoro, whose experience as a college professor and IT entrepreneur will help him bring everyday common sense solutions to our legislature. Dean Santoro will fight to lessen the state governments influence over our daily lives. He will attract publicity to ways in which our tax burdens can be diminished, and eliminate unnecessary existing laws so that our freedoms can be expanded.

In order to make these ideas a reality in the Florida legislature, Dean's campaign needs to buy Palm cards, Bumper Stickers, Slim Jims and Yard Signs in the next fifteen days. In order to be able to purchase all those materials Dean must raise $10,000.

No contribution is too small; every dollar raised will be put forth in the effort to spread the message of less government and more freedom. For example $25.00 pays for 125 Bumper Stickers; $50.00 helps buy 1600 palm cards and $100 dollars pays for 30 yard signs or 1250 slim jims.

Please remember that we must keep this campaign on track, any delays could affect our momentum. The local media and press are starting to take notice of Mr. Santoro and we must take full advantage of that.
