The legislative season for Nebraska is coming up. At this meeting we'll talk about creating a committee that will read ALL of the legislation, as it's introduced, in the legislature this coming year, and to rank it according to how critical it is to our mission (either for the good or the bad). For instance legislation that was going to cut a department of government, or add a department of government, might both be rated at a 5 (on a 5 point scale) which would indicate that our organization really wants to get involved in it.

We'll talk about what needs to be done, how to find some volunteers (come if you want to be a volunteer), and the process of how we'll go about organizing all the data. Everyone is invited.

We've reserved the Joyo Theatre in Havelock for a very special showing of the FOR LIBERTY Movie/documentary.

A small group of us viewed this movie in Omaha this past Friday, and we wanted to give the broader public the opportunity to see this very exceptional film. If you were involved in the Ron Paul campaign in 2007 and 2008, you'll definitely want to see this movie. If you're new to the liberty movement and/or the Campaign for Liberty, you'll want to see how and why things got energized.

Running almost 2 hours, the movie will start at 1. The concession stand will be open, so come a little early to get your goodies. Bring your friends and family.

We're asking for a donation of $5 each for anyone 16 or older to help defray the cost of theatre rental and to benefit the Campaign for Liberty in Nebraska. Kids younger than 16 can come free.

DVDs will be on sale following following the showing, and membership information will be available for those who aren't yet members of the Campaign for Liberty.

Put the date on your calendar! Spread the word! This is an event completely open to the public.

We'll be having a screening of the new movie, FOR LIBERTY. This is a great opportunity to renew friendships from the Paul Campaign, find out what got some of us so excited about the movement, or just hang out with some liberty loving people. I can't think of a better way to watch the movie than with a bunch of other people who love liberty!

The cost is reasonable (we'll have a bucket that you can pitch a little cash in to defray expenses, if you're so inclined). We'll have soft drinks and snack items available.

Only members of this Group can view the location for this Meetup

This is our FIRST statewide Meeting as the NEBRASKA Campaign for Liberty. We're hoping that lots of members (and prospective members) of the Campaign for Liberty come and help us brainstorm ideas for the future as we embark on our time as an independent corporation. We'll be talking about our philosophy and goals, as well as getting ideas for what YOU think our agenda should be in the state (we will, of course, still be working with the national organization on national issues).

RSVP, and we'll provide lunch and soft drinks, and be done by 2, so that you can head back home to Lincoln to watch the game--either in person, or on Pay Per View. If you're bringing guests, RSVP for them, too, so that we can have enough food.

No charge, per se, but we'll have a "pail" out so that you can help water the tree of liberty with a few bucks if you're able.

Questions? Just send a note to laura.ebke@campaignforliberty.com

This will be a very important day for our organization. We will be dropping off all of the petitions that we have been having people sign in regards to S.604 at Senator Ben Nelson's office. We are hoping to have a large number of petitions to hand to him, in order to help persuade him to co-sponsor S. 604. The bill already has the support of 23 other U.S Senators. We can make it 24 co-sponsors.

We are planning on meeting in front of his Lincoln office at 4:30pm, on September 15th. We will then compile all of our petitions together and present them to Senator Nelson.

This is an important piece of legislation and we need to get our Senator's on board with co-sponsoring this bill.

If you have petitions to turn in but can't make it to the meeting, please contact a local coordinator, or myself, and we would be happy to arrange to get your petitions for you in order to turn them in.

It is time to get our Senators on board for S. 604 - The "Audit the Fed" bill. Our House members are with us, but our Senators need some persuading.

We are planning to gather as many signatures on "Audit the Fed" petitions that we possibly can before the September 5th Nebraska Football Game in Lincoln. We had some great success in doing this type of thing when we were promoting Ron Paul for President a couple of years ago, so we thought this event would be just as successful.

We will meet on the west side of the Embassy Suites around 4pm, and try to gather signatures until around 5pm. The football game doesn't start until 6:00pm. Hopefully we will be able to get a few hundred signatures on that day and add those with the petitions that others have been gathering and really make a strong impression to both Senator Johanns and Senator Nelson when we drop the petitions off at their office during the middle of the September.

Please download petitions by visiting this site. Please bring as many as you can. If you can't print off any I will have a good number printed off for you to use.

Hope to see you on September 5th.

Thanks for supporting liberty in Nebraska.

The Lancaster County local coordinators will be holding a Campaign for Liberty public meeting for everyone who is interested in promoting and defending individual liberty, free markets, sound money, and limited/constitutional government.

We will be meeting at Gere Library - Meeting Room 2, at 56th & Normal in Lincoln, from 6:30pm-7:45pm.

We will be discussing ways to grow our organization, spread the ideas of liberty to others, and to take action in defending freedom in Lancaster County, Nebraska, and throughout our country.

This will be a public meeting so feel free to invite anyone who might be just searching for more information. We would also like to welcome anyone from other counties as well.

Come and share the excitement of reclaiming our liberty.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, August 18th.

The Tea Party folks are at it again, and have explicitly invited the Campaign for Liberty to Participate. I've been asked to say a few words about HR 1207 (Audit the Fed), and we've been told that they LOVED our Audit the Fed banner that we had at the last Tea Party, and would LOVE it if we brought it again (Thanks, Adam!).

Come and join the fun. We'll have some Campaign for Liberty slim jims to hand out, and we'll see if we can move some more people in our direction. This is a great--and very symbolic--opportunity for us to talk about liberty with our fellow Nebraskans!

Patients United is searching for health care solutions that will maintain a high level of freedom for patients, and not put healthcare in the hands of bureaucrats in Washington. Bring your family, have some free food, network with others, and support this organization that has worked closely with the Campaign for Liberty on other issues.

You can see more here, and RSVP here (or just show up). Also, please RSVP here so we can get an idea of how many of our folks may be there.

HR 1207 is our chance to put an end to the insidious Federal Reserve. This bill is still gaining momentum so lets do our part to gain support in our district.

And with all the recent Tea Party coverage on TV and radio, now is a good time to get out there and promote Ron Pauls Audit the Fed Bill.
I'll bring this banner shown in the picture and few other signs signs supporting HR 1207.
